Giannis looked Gassed the whole time. Late Ibaka had a terrible foul on Middleton behind the 3 point line. He had a handful of jersey and fouled him on the arm also fouling out. What was he doing? Fortunately for the Raps Middleton only made 2/3 of the FTs.
DeRozan made some big plays down the stretch. He's always my beacon of hope when it comes to Wiggins. It took DeRozan 6 or 7 seasons to really understand how to score efficiently (without a 3-point shot mind you) and become a top notch offensive weapon. It seems like Wiggins has more tools in the tool bag and should at least become a DeRozan level player.
I agree, Q. Wiggins has a chance to become DeRozan with a good 3-point shot, although DeRozan came into the League as a better ball-handler than Wiggins.
And we have to wait another 3 or 4 years... :-(
Tim if you want to be cheered up Wiggins is ahead of Derozan by at least a couple years as a scorer statistically. Heck Wiggins 3rd season is comparable to Derozon's career best season at the time in 2016 and Wiggins is a better 3 point shooter.
3rd year Wiggins is definitely way ahead of 3rd year DeRozan in terms of his scoring abilities. But frankly, that isn't very flattering, as DeRozan was an inefficient 17 PPG scorer that played for a 23-win team that year.
We know Wiggins can score in volume, as he demonstrated that as a rookie. The key with him is efficiency, as his shots are often long 2's and difficult mid-range turnaround J's. These are shots that the defense absolutely welcomes. These are some of the same shots DeRozan relies on, which is why even today he isn't a top-tier scorer (albeit very good). Without a 3-point shot, he's sort of tapped out at that 54-56 TS% range, which is OK but not great.
Hopefully Wiggins continues to improve his 3 point shot, free throw %, and looking to go all the way to the rim. He shouldn't completely cut out the mid-range stuff, but he has to keep improving his shot quality in order to take his place among the elite scorers in the league.

When people look back years from now at Marc Gasol and see his stats there is no way he will get the due he deserves. Is he an all time center? No but the guy is and has been really damn good player for a few years and the stats make him look very average. I assure everyone and will continue to do so that he is way above average.

Agreed, out of nowhere developed a consistent 3 pt shot

Some interesting comments from former and current Clippers about the dysfunction among Clipper players. One of the most interesting comments came Redick, who said, "I've always felt the best teams play with joy." I've always thought the same thing. Interesting to hear that from an NBA player. Ask yourself, did the Wolves play with joy last season? Is it possible to play with joy under Thibs? When our coach's mantra is "do your job" does that foster joy or passion? I want so badly to believe in Thibs because he's our head coach and I want the Wolves to succeed. But the more I reflect, the harder it is to believe in him as the right head coach for our team.

Doesn't JJ want to come here though? I think players under him still find joy in the fact that he doesn't run much of an offense lol for better or for worse player's get their iso's

I think you're going to finally get your game 7 -- thanks to a Jazz team playing with no passion or urgency. If I were a Jazz fan, I'd be pissed. After the first 5 minutes of the game I predicted the Jazz would lose. They seemed to be just going through the motions -- as if they just had to show up to win. Credit the Clippers for manning up tonight.

Scott Brook's sideline interview after the Wiz get off to a great offensive start in the 1st quarter:
Q: What a start for your guys on the offensive end, what went into it?
Scott: Just making simple extra passes. The game is about making the right play for each other.
We might have hired the wrong coach. Thibs preaches "share the ball", but other than Rubio, this team does not do it. Either Thibs doesn't REALLY believe in "share the ball", or he can't figure out how to make his big three do it. And I don't see how any "off-season acquisition" is going to fix the problem.
Can Thibs make his big three have a complete change of mindset on the offensive end? (not to mention the defensive end!)
- Signed, down & out in Prior Lake watching playoff basketball... :-(

Not a fan of the hiring, but I'll give him another half season. Definitely don't like the front office moves, specifically having one guy run the team, and coach.
