Tyreke isn't a PG and no way he is the 11th best PG. Sac has Thornton, Thomas, Jimmer and the shell of Salmons that are shooters that will benefit from a true passer (McClamore being productive is just a bonus) not to mention Cousins and Landry (and any other big that plays) benefiting from easy baskets. Also Moute hasn't really played with a passing PG so he could see another basket a game from playing with a guy that will get him easy looks. My point about the Kings isn't that they are going to be good its just that they aren't going to stink. The Suns might suck pretty hard except they still have good to solid PG and C so they might not get rolled every night.
Also I've dogged on Cousins a decent amount, but last year was a very solid season for him and I think he might have a nice group around him that actually make sense and I think its possible he blows up in a good way this year.

Pretty solid take, monster. I agree with you that Evans isn't really a PG...surprised to see him there on Hollinger's list. It will be interesting to see if Sac-town does perform better this year. On paper, I have a hard time seeing where the points are going to come from, but you're right that a pass first PG can really have an impact on a player's offensive numbers. I'm still betting against any success for the Kings this year, but you make an interesting case.

"@APkrawczynsk: AK said it was Flip's decision not to offer the long-term deal Kahn had promised. True. But Flip did offer a 3-yr deal that AK did turn down."
"@DarrenWolfson @brittrobson @APkrawczynski Word is 3/$21M. Some semantical debate from the AK side on that."
Well...

I find it hard to take anything the local media say as fact when I consider their hate for Kahn and obvious love affair with Flip. I have heard Krawczynski on numerous occasions speculate, but never once state that he had sources giving any details on the numbers.

Reading through all these old comments, I realize how right I am on just about everything. Nice tap on the back for me. :D

Cam, mad props for being correct. I had stopped reading this board for a while cause of all the uniformed negativity. It looks like Kiwi and Tim were with you (and a couple others that I can't think of right now)
Granted. it is early, but it doesn't sound like anyone was correct about the value of Martin or Brewer. It blows my mind how much worse this team would be if we had figured out a way to keep AK (I still don't think that was possible) and not signed Brewer. He (AK) has only played 54 minutes this year and has already missed 2 games.
Any who gave Flip a B- or want to defend your grade at this point?
Tim, nice bump here.

I have to admit, I never saw brewers play coming. He was a guy i have reservations about. I thought we overpay for him and i saw him as a energy bench guy who can be disruptive on defense and provide energy and hustle
What id idnt expect was his ability to leak out on the break has added a dimention to our offensive attack and became an offensive weapon for us. That ability put pressure on his man to race with him down court. He has done well finishing as well and he has been a better passer than i expected. Its still early but he has so far earned his salary and startin position.
Martin on the other hand was a guy I like for being an efficient and reliable scorer. Like others, I worry about his ability to stay healthy. Watching him play now is even better, as he is such a smooth, steady and unique player. We have 5 of those actually with martin, love, rubio, pek and now brewer who all have unique skills that are fun to watch when they are on.

My view was that we could keep both Martin and AK47...In other words, have our cake and eat it too. Given Brewer's career track record of poor shooting/finishing and slightly-above-average defense, I simply wasn't sold on him being a better value than AK on a cheap extension. I still think AK is a better half court 2-way player, which is especially important in the playoffs, where the pace of play tends to slow down.
That being said, since we acquired Brewer, I have vigorously advocated him being put into the starting lineup. And so far it's worked out beautifully. Adelman has maximized Corey's strengths and minimized his weaknesses, and as a result, he's having a career year.....so far.
I still think it's too early to adjust any of our grades for Flip. We'll see how things progress.
