At pick 45 player is more likely to be on a 2-way than 31 and 36. Wolves only have 1 roster spot open (not counting Naw) and will be up against the 2nd apron.

I kind of think though too, at some point the player actually needs an opportunity to play. We're decently stacked for depth already, so it might be a tall ask just for a chance to break through.

This Jamir Watkins guys seems intriguing. Another guy I might have have taken a flier on at 36. I wonder if TC had this guy in mind when he traded down to 45. I’m still having a hard time comprehending TC trading down 9 slots for nothing more than cash. I have to believe there’s something else going on because that’s just dumb.

It's not a bad look. It's mostly just us having major FOMO.

Would it be nice to add more talent? Sure. Can we still add talent? Sure.

I'm also not gonna go nuts over picks we don't have plans for clearly. At best, whoever we draft is replacing a vet min or rookie scale guy (Minott or Garza). Whoever we pick is replacing Jesse Edwards or Bones.

I don’t disagree with anything you said. We massively overreact to 2nd round picks and players

We don’t know if anyone was offering future assets for the pick (no trades have happened since). Connelly didn’t want to fill up their last roster spot. 45 is more likely to be on a 2-way and not fill up a roster spot

There's always a guy out there that will grind his way into a plus rotation player. Naz Reid went undrafted. TJ McConnell went undrafted. Jester went undrafted.

Windhorst pretty much said that we traded back because we didn’t want fill the last roster spot and wanted a 2-way

Isn't there a limit of 3 mil?
IDK? Might be, which is why I am asking.
This article says it's over 7 million and the Wolves can still accept over 4 million.

So maybe they got the full 4 and change to move back. It's not nothing, unless you just passed up drafting the next Jokic. Which is really like a 1 in 1000 odds. Wasn't Ginobli a second rounder too? Maybe 1 in 300 turns out to be a stud. Just spitballing. Kind of like buying versus selling, but then like I said in my other post we are pretty deep already. Hard to crack the top 10-12 just for playing time.
