I think much of the criticism on DLO is legit and yes there is plenty of blame to go around tonight for the lackluster effort. You have been hyping up DLO to an absurd level and he didn't stand out in any way. I think you praised his shooting, yet he shoots below 40% for game. Some poor passing and we all know that he doesn't defend well. Not what you want to see out of a max player.

To an absurd level? I've said D-Lo's an All-Star, a good secondary scorer, a very good shooter, and he takes care of the ball. I've already acknowledged that he's a weak defender. All of that is true whether you choose to suck it up and admit it or not. I typically support my stances with numbers and/or anecdotal evidence. You routinely respond to me with emotion and finger-pointing. Excuse me if I just completely dismiss your posts in the future.

Cmon now, you mean you're not in love with our shoot first, no defense, sub par offensive efficiency - point guard who lets us pay him the max? Clearly Camden is our intellectual superior... he kinda seems like the Dlo of this board tbh

Unfortunately, I think he has at least this season and probably one more unless Glenn sells the team. But I wanted him fired when he made the DLO trade and felt even more that way after the Edwards pick.

Nonsense. Most of the posters on this board are your intellectual superiors. Don't kid yourself by thinking it's just me. Moving along...

I usually like your takes, but if you're gonna come at me with the condescending attitude, I'll give it right back dude.

Geeze guys its only preseason game 2. Save the vitriol for when we're 10 games below 500.

You point out DLO is (which is incorrect, its "was") an All-Star in hundreds of posts and most of the time you just refer to him as an All-Star as if that automatically means he is a great or very good player. You never mention that DLO was an injury fill in all-star in Eastern Conference during a year where several teams tanked for the Zion sweepstakes and he was selected by Adam Silver alone. You never mention that he has a career plus minus that is even worse than Wiggins. If we had traded Wiggins for DLO straight up, I'd have no complaints, but giving up a lightly protected pick plus second rounder going into a loaded draft is complete lunacy.

Here my thoughts before I read back through the thread.

If Towns is gonna play like he has the past 2 games this team isn't going to be very good. JV simply outplayed him in this game. He just isn't doing anything at a high level. Whether that's him or the coaching that's up for debate but it's not good enough. He did set one really good screen in this game.

Beasley looked solid on D a number of possessions. He took a lot of good shots in this game. He really has a nice chance of being a nice player.

Juancho had a nice game.

Edwards attacked and did some better things this game. It looked worse though as it went on but for propel that wanted him to attack more you got it. He also was active on D and got some deflections.

Culver looked pretty good. He did a little too much on some drives but I like what I saw. I'm not sure why he isn't playing over Okogie I think his D is better and his offense is better also.

RHJ didn't do much on that first game but holy shit he was EVERYWHERE tonight. He was the only guy that actually defended JV with any success and man that guy can grab and go. Dieng had no chance on that one play. If he shows anything near that again I don't know how you cut him.

Nowell was solid he played some solid D and didn't do anything stupid.

I like McDaniels I'm not sure what he is but there is a legit base for him to be a few different types of players.

Vanderbilt made an play! That pass was nice. That's about it.

As I have written there were some real positives about this game but it was pretty disappointing overall. I'm personally really intrigued with this roster with so many young guys but I really don't know if we are gonna be any good. The first game actually looked less bad than the first one. This time the starters were getting beat too...and bad too. So many turnovers.

Yeah Beasley's energy is crazy. Hes already stated he wants to be the best defender on the team. I hope he keeps improving. He certainly has a lot to prove. Appreciate your analysis.
