I disagree to some extent. I think JJ isn't a good fit for this team but the guy is a good player. Above average defense that can hit 3's and is difficult to guard running all over place is no small thing. Maybe a decline is coming but are we certain a guy like Green is actually more than a fringe starter? He isn't a no brainer either and people are willing to give him Dieng money and people complain about how much we have Dieng. I'm not dogging on Green just being realistic. If we sign him and pay him a healthy sum to get him away from Memphis it will be a risk.

That's the thing about this FAs it's tricky each option has some risks. If you have to play 12 million to get Tucker then if you only have to pay another few million to take a chance on a player like Gallo maybe take the chance and even if you only get 60 games out of him at least he is helping you get to the playoffs. However...we just lowered the bar there because we had players like that in Martin AK and if you were optimistic a couple years ago Pek. I have doubts Thibs and Layden are going to be interested in guys who have a high likeliness of not playing most games.

The other thing that makes it tough for the Wolves is they don't exactly have a clear open spot on the roster. Sure you can make an arguement than there is a spot open at PF or SF but there are players there that are plenty accomplished in Wiggins and Dieng. Some other teams maybe have wide open spots to fill and their ability to offer a wide open opportunity will be an advantage. Thibs and Layden have their work cut out for them. I have a decent amount of confidence in them.

Full Max for Noel. Maybe Dieng would have gotten more than I thought.

If that happens then I will be further convinced that owners are doing this to cause a restructure. At this rate there won't be any money to spend in two years and I'd expect more global movement.

Probably not a big surprise, but I was not sure it would happen: Anthony Tolliver has been released by the Kings.

I read the article and I don't see how Iggy's "ability to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors will be heavily impacted by the amount of money Kevin Durant takes during his own free agency." I am no expert, but Durant is opting out and so has to be re-signed with cap space. To do that, the warriors may have to renounce Iggy's cap-hold and thus his rights. That means they will have to use cap space for his deal as well.

I don't think Golden State will be dead set on keeping Iggy. They have steam rolled through the playoffs without a ton of help from him. With Durant now being able to play that big 3/small ball 4 (albeit he's not very small at 7'0), Iggy's importance has been reduced.

That being said, after three straight trips to the Finals, I fully expect him to go find another clear cut playoff team to join. That ain't the Wolves.

To add to your Iggy point, I just don't see outside players buying into what is happening here. When guys get interviewed like say Jamal Crawford, they always speak glowingly about what this team is trying to do and what their future looks like, but when it comes time to sign, they stay as far away as possible. It's a big conundrum: Try to win without the help of free agents but if you do, you're not gonna want them here because you've proven you can win without them.

Until this team makes the playoffs, I just don't see really good players willing to hop aboard just so we can make the 8th seed.

That's kinda funny but he still gets 2 million bucks. I was hoping the would let him go. Bring Tolliver back home. I'm not joking he would be a solid addition.
