KG for Thad and Budinger would technically work... but yuck. Losing that trade. Try and get Jack back or something. Yeesh.

I agree, Cam. But Flip has a crush on KG and I could see him doing that deal straight up. I would be very disappointed in Flip if he makes that deal.

I can't think of one reason we would want to acquire KG at this point in his career. Not one.

If they can get a quality asset in addition to KG while dumping Thad and Bud then it may make sense on its own with the bonus of bringing KG home for the last couple months of his playing career. KG cannot be the center piece from Minnesota's standpoint otherwise its nothing more than a salary dump, a salary that itself cost a first round pick.

They have no picks.

Looks like nothing until 2020. They don't have much for player assets either.. hmm

It makes no sense to hold onto Martin or Young provided fair compensation is out there. We have to start building this thing for the long term. I don't think either player fits into our long term plans.

My guess is Thad & G. Neal for KG and KG either plays next year in his final season with MN or becomes our head coach next year.

KG for Thad
Risk: Team loses often down the stretch and KG blows up often and is a negative influence.
Risk part two: We get little value for Thad if nothing else is involved. *Have extra money for next year.

Reward Options
#1 - KG's leadership teaches these kids defense and how to win close games.
#2 - We win and convince him to play one more year.
#3 - He becomes our next head coach and is intense and demands the same out his players providing leadership to guide them to a playoff birth next season.

Two fun trades to consider

MN - KG, Dragic & R. Bullock
BKN - Thad & Budinger
PHX - Neal & AB

or

MN - KG & Plumlee
BKN - Thad, Neal & Dieng
