Glen: Good news Flip, I took care of everything. I just got off the phone with the Warriors and they told me they would give me Lee AND Barnes for only Kevin Love and a 1st round pick!
Flip: But Glen I got the Warriors to give us Klay Thompson and Barnes and Lee for Love and Kevin Martin.
Glen: Don't be silly Flip. Me and Lacob are going to wrap this up over golf and cigars at the clubhouse. Have the boys start setting up the David Lee posters

No, but he's a third year guy who averaged 16 last year...3-year guys don't play SL often.

Love for wiggins, bennet, haywood and a number 1 pick is what il be happy to take from the cavs. Not sure how salary works out but that is reportedly the deal/offer.
I can understand flip wanting to unload brew/martin as we have a surplus of wing players. I do hope that flip is only playing golden state in order to make the cavs bid higher. I dont want the golden state deal.
I really want to stick it to the warriors and their fans. They were claiming all along that they won trade klay for love and they value klay as much as they do love. Well, I dont care if they relented. I would like to see them go ahead and pay klay the max next season and have the most expensive starting five in the league. The same five that wont make them a contender.

I don't really care either way but the "We were only gonna play them 4 games" line seems like complete BS too me. That makes absolutely no sense. I'd want those guys playing as many games as possible especially Bennett.
Also yeah the Cavs coulda done better with the TT pick but they got at worst a decent NBA player Jonas is the only clear guy they maybe should have taken but they didn't completely blow that pick at least up to this point. They have left some people scratching their heads though for sure with 2-3 picks.

The negatives LST are saying (not denying them) about Love are basically similar to what you would have for Melo also and teams went pretty crazy over him this summer and he is older and honeslty Love is probably gonna be a better player if not already then this year or soon. Love has some warts but he is one of the best rebounders AND scorers in the game. Love is one of the best scorers in the game Love is one of the best scorers in the game. I said that multiple times because people absolutely undervalue Love's scoring ability whether its on message boards here there whatever or nationally. He gets to the line at an incredible rate has the shooting stroke of a SG and has added a more diverse post game that will only get better with time. Add to that he scores a lot of his points within the flow of the offense or on garbage buckets. Also don't forget he is a pretty good passer. Oh he doesn't play D? Yeah neither did Bosh when he went to Miami and he improved a lot in that area while he was there. Love can and will improve although yeah he will probably be limited there he can improve.
The reason only a few teams are in the running for Love is only a few have the room or even remotely reasonable assets to get him. Like Lip said Flip may even keep him and see what might happen. Love is probably on his way out but I've NEVER been convinced its beyond repair like the media leads you to believe. Flip is rightly waiting for an offer you might have to consider even if Love was locked up for a few more years.
The reason why the people hesitate to trade Wiggins and other assets or players or both is probably because they are very high on Wiggins not down on Love. If you think Wiggins is gonna be at least one of those star top 10 guys in the league then you probably don't want to give him up even for Love. Its really not a crazy concept (that we have been over and over and over) and I am one of the biggest fans of Love here and maybe in the entire world. Lol Using that rational arguement against Love's value doesn't exactly add up.
All I am saying in these points really is Love's value is incredibly high. I'm sure teams value Love very highly and would be very happy to add a guy that's on his way to a likely HOF career. I think Flip understands Love's value and is going to get the most out of it either on the court for the Wolves or in a massive trade. If its true Lebron wants Love, Flip is in a good position.

That trade doesn't work. Wiggins counts as 0 salary in the trade. The Cavs need to include 2 of: Bennett/Thompson/Waiters plus a little more salary. EX: Wiggins/Bennett/Thompson/Haywood for Love/GR3
We can blame the NBA for doing things so stupidly regarding trades/draft picks/rookies. Logically Wiggins should have around a 4.5 mill cap hold that should count in a trade. Or not have stupid rules of not being able to trade a newly signed rookie for 30 days. If either was the case we could see a deal like:
Wiggins/Bennett/Thompson/1st for Love/GR3/Brewer or Bud or Martin

The argument that they should keep Wiggins because he could be a top 10 player just doesn't compute in my brain. All that does is put him in the same company as Love, only it's going to take at least 5 years for him to get there. To me it is a crazy concept that you won't trade a guy who could potentially be a top 10 guy in 5 years for a guy who is already in the top 10 when your title window is only about 5-7 years. I just think people are thinking so far into the future with Wiggins' career that they don't realize Lebron is 30 and he's not going to be that great by the time Wiggins hits his stride in the league. Keeping Wiggins sets them up to be good for a decade because you'll have good Lebron get worse right when young Wiggins gets better. Getting Love makes them a great team for as long as Lebron can hold on because Love still has a decade of good basketball left himself as he is only 25. I guess I'm just beating my head against a wall trying to rationalize something that makes no sense to me. It's to the point where my heart hopes Cleveland and GS don't get Love just so they can fail and look back at how stupid they were during the Love negotiations, but my head says Wiggins is the ticket to a level of sustained success we haven't had in a decade.

Just to be clear I see both sides but I would deal for Love (biased and don't have a feel for Wiggins or the Cavs young guys) for the reasons you mentioned. I also don't think its gonna take Wiggins that long to be a pretty good player if he is actually gonna be good. Love was putting up double doubles in limited time in his 2nd year (wasn't too shabby in year 1 either) and by year 3 was going for 20-15. Just sayin :)
One other thing to add to trading for Love is that if you believe in your drafting skills (cavs I'm not sure they should lol) you can hope to find gems like the spurs and OKC have been able to do in the later rounds and still get young talent. That's asking sort of a lot though.
