I doesn't why Jordan Adams doesn't get more notice. I think he would be perfect for this team. We need a few more players that a physically and mentally tough. I think he fits the mold.

For one, I don't like that he doesn't keep himself in good shape. Guy looks like a teddy bear with all the extra cushion he's packing.
He's also not going to be the BPA at 13, and certainly not better than Stauskas/Harris if available.

Love was a Teddy Bear. The guy looks like a steal at 20 to me. Most boards have him in the second round.

Anderson and Lavine didn't look too great for UCLA last night. I think Wilbekin for Florida could be an underrated PG. 6'2", 39% 3's. He's a senior which makes him too old for NBA teams I guess. Haven't seen him much this season but looks pretty smooth.

He added about 16 pounds of muscle and six inches on his vert last off-season. Only 20 years old. Him and Ricky should become workout buddies.
As for the K-Mart comparison, I don't 100% remember Martin when he was younger, but I doubt he was as good of a passer as Stauskas. Stauskas also seems to have the "alpha dog" mentality that Martin doesn't have.
I see Curry/Hayward in Stauskas.
The thing that Stauskas has that sets him clearly apart from Martin is his edgy attitude. Martin is a nice guy, but soft, and fades away when the game is on the line. Stauskas is cocky and maybe even a little bit arrogant. He's the kind of guy that gets in the heads of opponents, and that helps him on defense. He just thinks he's better than his opponent. I think we could use some of that attitude on this club .
This all day, every day. I think you need these kind of players on the team to really help carry them in tough situations. Plus, a guy who is considered a dead eye shooter, on the Wolves, who has the assassin mentality? When have we had anything even remotely close to that...ever?
I would love Jabari Parker, but I think he's out of reach. I like that Stauskas improved his body dramatically coming into the season. That shows the kind of dedication to be a better player that you don't see as much as you probably should with a lot of these college kids. He realizes where he has weaknesses, and worked to fix them. I think he has NBA handles, shooting, and passing. Couple that with an aggressive approach and condifence, with a very quick release, what more do you want from a SG? Defense.... Ok, you have me there, but pair him with a defensive SF, and Ricky, with a rim protector in Dieng, and Love to clean up the boards, and I think we have that balanced 1st unit we've all been begging for.

For the record I like Stauskas a lot but I also think PJ Hairston would be a solid fit here too. I just don't know where Shabazz fits into the equation with Stauskas, except that maybe Shabazz continues to work and his rebounding continues to shine, while his defense will improve with experience. With a more traditional SF behind him (Brewer, I guess, unless we can move him a Pek deal to secure that true SF to start) I think Shabazz could do quite well.
I think we have to come away with either a starting SG or SF in the draft, unless one can be had from a Pek trade. In which case, there are a lot of good PG's this year, well, not a lot but quite a few that I think spelled with and playing with Ricky could be quite good. I think Ricky is a borderline superstar but if his shot and finishing don't improve, which I think they will with a more aggressive approach as we saw in spots this year, we need someone who can play 20+ minutes a night to spell his ineffective qualities. I think Napier was mentioned, he would be a great 6th man to change of the pace at PG.

I'd be quick to draft Wilby with one of our second rounders. Casey Prather wouldn't make me anrgy either.

It's astonishing to me that draft pundits are still talking about Zach Lavine. Yes, he can really jump, but so could Rodney Williams. The guy can't even crack the starting lineup at UCLA. LaVine shows up as a lottery pick on a couple boards, but I don't see him going anywhere in the first round. He needs to stay in school to prove that his athleticism can translate into performance...it hasn't yet.

Agreed. Believe me, I like LaVine's potential a lot, but right now the college game looks too fast for him. Needs to stay in school at least another year and let the game come to him. Maybe take a page out of his teammate Kyle Anderson's book and play at his own pace.

I don't know if you saw it yesterday, cam, but Lavine announced that he will be in the draft this year. He's unhappy with how he has been treated at UCLA. So he's going to come out in a stacked draft after not playing that many minutes as a freshman. Huge mistake...he might not go first round.
More relevantly, Stauskas just hit his first three :)
