Monster - I couldn't agree more. I would love to get Tice back. I would seriously consider hiring whoever is the OL coach for Packers. They really have a great line over there and seem to find players at lower draft positions.

Saw this on Vikings FA 10 not to signs. I would sign Kalil if he looks healthy.

All the Raiders articles that come up about Tice say they have to bring him back so it seems like it would be a surprise if he isn't back. Plus Sparano and Zimmer worked together under Parcells so they have a connection.

I was moderately interested in reading that article when I saw it recently and now I read it. It seems like Kalil is the clear highest value of the bunch espcially since he is a LT. If you could get a LT that was even the 23rd best LT in football for 5-7 million that would be a big boost for the Vikings.

Something else I thought was interesting was in the comments someone complained about tackles blocking in Norv's system. I think considering offensive systems is worthwhile. What the OC and the offensive line coach and of course the head coach wants to do matters to offensive lineman. Some guys are going to be better in some systems and some guys won't be. Do the Vikings have some guys that might improve in the system with Shurmer as the OC from the beginning? Will Sparano's coaching work better with that system? Idk but that stuff could make some legit difference.

Also Davidson was hired by the Chargers for the 2016 season and he followed McCoy over to Denver and will be their oline coach and also will be working with Musgrave again who is the QB coach.

Good article. I just think we would cut ties with the guys that clearly can't play. Clemmings, Fusco, and Smith shouldn't be back.

Not real shocking. Harris was a pretty good player but was a FA anyway and it's hard to have confidence he was going to regain his form a year out of the game and we still don't know what was up with him which is his right.

Fusco...well it seems like it wouldn't be that hard to find someone on the roster to play somewhat decent at RG. The Vikings have options of likely decent players along the interior it's the Tackles that are a problem. Letting go of Fusco saves them a pretty decent chunk of cap room.

Sirles is a RFA I wonder how much he might get. I don't think it will he a lot but he will get a raise over those cheap rookie contracts.

The guys we had outside Kalil I think are vet min types.

Andrew Whitworth (Bengals), age 35: Even though Whitworth turned 35 in December, the Bengals tackle is coming off perhaps his best seasons in the past two years, which include two Pro Bowls and a first-team All-Pro selection. Whitworth hasn't missed a game since 2013 and has sat out only eight games in his 11-year career.

Riley Reiff (Lions), 28: A lackluster left tackle market could have some thinking about Reiff moving back to where he started 47 of 48 games for the Lions from 2013 to 2015. Detroit moved Reiff to right tackle last season following the first-round selection of Taylor Decker. Reiff has missed only three starts in the past four seasons.

Ty Nsekhe (Redskins), 31: The Vikings saw firsthand Nsekhe's play at left tackle when Everson Griffen went without a sack in their Nov. 13 meeting. Nsekhe, a 31-year-old journeyman, has only six career starts, but he made a strong case in four of them last season during Trent Williams' suspension. Nsekhe was active for 16 games last season while dealing with a nagging ankle injury.

Kelvin Beachum (Jaguars), 27: Unlike he did against Nsekhe, the Vikings' Griffen had little trouble breezing past Beachum in Jacksonville last season. The game exemplified a down season for Beachum, a former seventh-round pick by the Steelers. He's just a year removed from a torn ACL, which ended his run as a starter in Pittsburgh, and could be worth a look for the tackle-needy Vikings.

Ryan Clady (Jets), 30: The former All-Pro left tackle for the Broncos has had tough luck the past four seasons, starting 16 games only once. Clady appeared in nine games with the Jets before a torn rotator cuff landed him on injured reserve. The Jets declined Clady's 2017 option, so he's a free agent. Clady has missed 37 games because of foot, ACL and shoulder injuries the past four seasons.

Also: William Beatty (Giants), Ben Ijalana (Jets), Bradley Sowell (Seahawks).

I am all for that and draft the best Center in the draft in round 2 if available.

I still wish the Vikings would have given Boone some games at LT or RT. It would have been nice to see how he would have done.

Every article I see on the available LTs makes Kalil at the right price seem relatively appealing. I'm. It saying we should bring him back it's just there are not too many awesome options.
