You have to be able to create and/or make shots in this league, especially as a starting guard. You can't just rotate the ball on the perimeter and expect that to be enough. Zero points for Mike Conley Jr. in 33 minutes is flat out unacceptable. I thought that was really where the team was hurting last night along with the putrid bench production.
That game's over, though. Another wasted opportunity for this group with more to come. I didn't learn much about last night, but I did see Nickeil Alexander-Walker play above average NBA defense and it's worth shouting out. He's represented well on that end for the season, actually. You could make a strong argument that he should be playing all of the minutes that are allocated to Jaylen Nowell and Austin Rivers moving forward. Neither of them have been consistently effective with their playing time.

The amount of ridicule that's coming this franchise's way after missing the playoffs this year is gonna be incalculable.

Incalculable and much-deserved, if that is indeed what ends up happening.

It's less about the number of shots... as much as the quality of shots sometimes. Edwards took 4 or 5 absolutely TERRIBLE shots tonight.
He has blinders. He's young and sometimes it pays off. But it's definitely part of his game that he needs to improve.
I agree, Abe. I was just commenting on the notion that we didn't have other shooters because Edwards wasn't giving up the ball. Other players had opportunities. Conley took 9 shots and missed all of them. Rudy took 16 shots and missed nearly half of them, which seems like a good percentage if not for the fact all his shots were at the rim. My only point was that other player had opportunities, but fell short. But yes, Edwards missed too many shots as well and took too many bad shots as well. Bottom line is that this team didn't score enough last night to win and that wan't Ant's fault. If our starting PG had simply hit 33% of his 9 FG attempts, the Wolves would have won.

Yes, much-deserved!
