They are generally better with him off the floor than on it. This is not new, as it was a similar situation in Minnesota.
I view LaVine as being potentially the next Jamaal Crawford/Nick Young/Gerald Green/Louis Williams type player. He has massive defensive deficiencies and takes a lot of ill-advised shots, therefore may be best used as a bench scorer versus a franchise pillar for someone.
I agree. Even how much I love Zach Lavine play basketball. He is going to lose 50 games for his 6th time in his career. His team has a negative net rating every year of his career. His team has been better with him off the court in 5 of his 6 years. Zach bitch about Hoiberg, now wants Boylen gone.
Zach will probably be a good 6th man later in his career because he is talented but now he is a low IQ, highly paid, terrible defense, talented losing basketball player

Agreed. I like Richardson also but. I think RoCo and Richardson are sort of a wash (I would probably lean RoCo but Richardson is younger).
But can't forget we got an asset in Saric to help us move up in the draft. Waiters contact is still bad so no asset there actually a negative asset and it matters where that pick would of been because if they don't make the playoffs that Heat trade would of been not the best

Maybe that's true. They do need to make up excuses if they are tanking though. You can't by NBA rules just load manage players. So I wouldn't call anything repotted as 100% always factual. If it is, obviously my best wishes go out to him and his family.
I'm pretty sure it's true. They aren't going to just make up a death, my goodness....
What may also be true, however, is that the Wolves have a more generous approach to bereavement and actively encourage players to take 3, 4, or 5+ days to deal with it.
I do agree that something is different in the way the Wolves are handling illness, bereavement, and injuries. My theory is that what is different is that they are simply erring on the side of being more generous and careful versus pressuring or rushing players back.
That's what it seems like. Wiggins Grandma died so he took a week off. One game was listed as illness though, maybe it wasn't. Teague was out for 10 days? with an illness, it was odd. That seemed extra long. All of a sudden a bunch more players have sore knees or illnesses. Had the Wolves been in the playoffs, maybe some of these illnesses and soreness/injuries don't keep the players out at all. That's what I am seeing.
Like I said it's not outright tanking by sitting your best players all the time, but it is let's just keep our guys healthy, see what we have with these other 2nd round picks and FA's. We're still trying to get better and win with who is playing.

I think it was Jon K that reported that Teague actually had some stitches for some non basketball injury.

Sixers Fans better enjoy Richardson this year and next because I wonder if they will be able to afford him beyond that (unless they are willing to play a bunch of Luxury tax) Because they are paying Harris Embiid Horford and Simmons over 120 million that year. Richardson has a player option for just under 12 million. Roco is signed for another year longer than Richardson (assuming Richardson opts out) so that adds value.
Q12543 wrote:Cam's guy Josh Richardson powers the Sixers over Jimmy Butler and the Heat for an easy victory!
And similar to his time in Miami, he has one of the best net ratings on the Sixers, behind only Joel Embiid. May be it's because he can dribble, pass, shoot, and defend all at a solid level. The Wolves seem to be on a 20 year quest to find a single perimeter player that can do even three of those things well.
Richardson was the guy the Wolves could have had for Butler. And we would have apparently received Miami's 2019 first round pick as well (#13).
It was Richardson, waiters (who had a shitty contract) and a lotto project 1st what conveys to 2 2nds if they don't make the playoffs (heat didn't make the playoffs do they do that with Jimmy IDK)
I don't think any of us know all the precise elements of the deal on the table with Miami. No one had to take Waiters in Miami's deal with the Sixers. Even if the 2019 pick were lottery protected, it's likely that Jimmy Butler's presence would have made the Heat a 7th or 8th seed playoff team and the Wolves would have received an extra pick in the 14-16 range. I'd rather have the 26-year old versatile Richardson and a top 16 pick than the 29-year old Covington and Saric.
Miami had been searching for a third team to reroute a contract, which included conversations on Miami guard Dion Waiters, sources said. Incentivizing a third team with draft picks became one of the road blocks in Minnesota completing the trade, league sources said.
