Ricky has gone 3-10 each of his last two games and needs to find a way to improve his shooting. So, why am I dropping my P-O-M from 60% to 45%? Because the rest of his play has been brilliant. Flirting with a quad double against the Knicks and going 12-8-5-2 last night has been fun to watch. We have now played 6 consecutive terrific quarters, and Ricky is the catalyst for much of that success. He is playing like a man possessed on defense, and was a major factor on holding the Kings to 12 points under their average. !5 percentage points is a big drop in my POM, but Ricky had a great week. I hope he can stay healthy and keep it up.

Among starting PGs, Rubio is now 4th in rebounds per game, 5th in assists per game, 6th in steals per game, and tied for 6th in (fewest) turnovers per game. And he's doing this while being 18th in minutes per game. On a per 36 minute basis, this is how he fares:

Rebounds - 4th
Assists - 2nd
Steals - 2nd
TOs - 7th fewest

But this is nothing new. Elite in multiple categories, historically awful in one.

The one small encouraging sign with his shooting is that his set-shot 3 pointer seems to have started to go in a bit more often lately.

Good number, Q. Yeah, Ricky is 7-13 (54%) on threes his last 5 games, and only 35% overall...that's downright weird. I have noticed that he has some success hitting the mid-ranger while moving to his left off a pick, but he is totally inept on all other jumpers. But opponents are going to notice his three point success, and respecting it will help him beat defenders off the dribble.

It might be a pipe dream....but if he can just get one more shot to fall and start going 4-10...I think that would be adequate for most on here right? It would for me. 4-10 from the field, add a couple free throws to get into double digit scoring, plus keep doing all the other things he's always done - I'd be fine. One more friggin' make a game Ricky. You can do it.

Weiner, I've been saying this for a while as well, Ricky averages 9 FG attempts a game and only makes 3, so making 4 is over 40% and would be acceptable to most here I think. So we're talking a difference of 2 or 3 points a game, which he usually makes up by getting an extra steal, board, assist, etc. and he's a good FT shooter.

And now with Big KAT showing his range, we have 4 others on the floor most of the time who can hit a 3, sans our other bigs. I really didn't want to start another Rubio debate but my pork meter has gone down a bit after the last few games.

Ricky is in the midst of one of his worst shooting stretches of his career...28% in his past five games. but everything else he has been doing has been sensational, so I'm making a huge P-O-M move...from 45% down to 25%.

In just 28 minutes tonight Ricky had 15 assists (with only 2 TOs) and 4 steals. And for the last five games while he has been shooting so poorly, his per-game numbers are 8.6 points, 10.2 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. And his defense has been consistently outstanding. His shot is broken (other than free throws and 3-pointers), but the rest of his game is all-star level.

I started out very skeptical of Rubio when we drafted him, grew cautiously optimistic but doubtful for his first few seasons, and now I really love the guy. Honestly, it's his passion and intensity. We need that on this team. His last few games he's been so active defensively.

He's such a horrific shooter, but I just can't imagine this team without him frankly. If he doesn't play, I feel like we miss so much more than what he puts in the boxscore (and he is great in several areas). He just sets the tone. Now he just needs to stay healthy . . .

It was vintage Rubio today. I mean he was absolutely performing surgery on Brooklyn's defense. Gorgui Dieng must have had 5 baskets gift-wrapped by Rubio.

It's really too bad his shot is so broken, but you can't argue with the overall results lately. At least he makes his free throws and gets to the line fairly often.

i am still at 80, three games against subpar teams are not going to change my opinion, Knicks were the best out of these 3 and they are starting Calderon who is done and should not be in the league anymore and Ricky knows him well and can abuse him

This is actually part of problem, bad teams who cannot exploit him make him look like a god, and then we get wrecked by above average competition. My opinion is that we are cementing weaknesses into lineup which will come to bait us when it will hurt the most.
