If we get Wiggins/waiters/Bennett/Thompson.
For
Love/Bud/Barea

That leaves the Cavs as follows

Irving/Barea
Gee/Bud
Lebron
Love
Varejo

They then sign Chris Anderson, Ray Allen, Mike Miller

Spurs will still give them a run. It'll be fun to watch KLove get eaten up. His defense will be exposed.

Wolves would be fun to watch.

Rubio/Shved
Waiters/LaVine/Martin
Brewer/Wiggins/Bazz/GRob3
Thompson/Bennett/BahMoute
PEK/Dieng/Turiaf

We could run and gun with anyone play some D.

Get it done Flip.

longstrangetrip wrote:With Woj now reporting there is an offer involving Wiggins, let's play along and assume it is true. Here are my questions. And my answers.

1) Who do you think is involved in the proposed deal?

I think it is Love plus Bud or Martin in exchange for Wiggins/TT/Waiters/Bennett. The salaries balance out.

2) Do you think Flip would take that deal?

I think he will certainly try to leverage it into something better, but will eventually take it.

3) Is there a potential deal out there that you would like better?

Boston: Olynyk, Smart, filler and picks. No, because I'm not as sold on Smart as many others are. He shoots like Rubio in games, but if you watch his workout videos, he doesn't shoot as well as Rubio in workouts.

Houston: Jones/Parsons/Lin and filler. Not as good as the Cleveland deal

GS: Thompson/Lee/Barnes for Love/Martin. No, not interested enough in Lee.

Chicago: Butler/Gibson/McDermott/Mirotic. I would have to consider this one. Overall, I probably like it better than the Cleveland deal. This gets a little tricky, because the Bulls can't trade Mirotic for 30 days.

How do you guys answer these 3 questions?

I don't think Chicago has ever been rumored to offer up all four of those guys. Taj Gibson has always been assumed to be part of any offer as well as the picks that netted McDermott. I think its possible Chicago throws in Mirotic or Butler, but not likely both. I think this would be a good trade to get all four (I really like Butler), but I probably still prefer the potential two way superstar in Wiggins to be the centerpiece of the franchise, especially if Thompson is part of the deal. Boston deal would be next as I like Smart though I worry about whether he can start alongside Rubio. I think New Jersey will be in the lottery so if we could get those Nets picks and a Boston first round pick, I'd like this deal too. I'm least excited about the Golden State deal. Klay is nice, but I am not excited about anybody else that might be included in the deal. Also, I don't like the way that Golden State has publicly leaked reports to bolster their negotiating position.

Tristin Thimpson would have to be part of the deal with Cleveland for me to take it. Wiggins has great potential but has never played an NBA game. There are questions about his motor and ball handling. Thompson has proven he can play and play well at the NBA level, averaging 9 rebounds a game last season. Thompson and Wiggins would be the two essential pieces of the package for me. Waiters would be a bonus with baggage.

Otherwise, I'd prefer a deal with Houston for Parsons, Terrence Jones and Beverly or draft picks.

Love and Martin for Wiggins' rights, Waiters, Thompson, Haywood (cut) and Hopson (cut).

I'd really prefer Thompson to Bennett, but I'd be willing to compromise down to Bennett if the Cavs threw in 2015 Miami 1st rounder.

No other package is touching this one in terms of value. We get everything we need here.

And yes, Flip loves Wiggins. I think he'd definitely take that deal.

Yes. The idea was kicked around a week or so ago. Martin/Bud for Gordon with 2 years left on his huge deal. Worst case he ends up being a big expiring. Best case he stays healthy and gets back to form.

Yeah, but we're talking about deals involving Love

I talked with a friend of mine from Chicago where I grew up. He's a Bulks season ticket holder and has some good contacts in the organization. He said he was told that Chicago recently offered Jimmy Butler, Taj Gibson and 2 future first round picks. Said the won't include Mirotic, but might agree to include McDermott.

Right, was just throwing it out there b/c outside of the CLE deal, nothing else is very appealing. GS deal has Lee's huge contract, not sold on Parsons with a near max deal and Boston just has a bunch of picks.

Well.. with Parsons agreeing to a 3 yr 46 mill offer sheet with the Mavs, that kinda kills the Rockets as a trade partner for Love.

Yep. I bet Bosh will sign right before Parsons signs the offer sheet.

Now, with others (doogie, sean devaney) saying there are no ongoing talks between the Cavs and Wolves, I wonder about Rizzo's sources.

Looking at his recent tweets, I'm thinking he might actually be a kindergartner
