I saw that pointing by Anderson, reminiscent of when he did it in the playoffs to get KAT a wide open three. It's great to see, and hopefully something we can implement and not burn us in the playoffs in big moments. I have to imagine teams are going to just leave Kyle alone to double Ant or Randle, and we will have to have a great plan on what to do in those instances. Donte is able to double KD, because Thompson is a non shooter. That week we have before the playoffs start, will be a good time to implement these kind of plays and habits.FNG wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2026 10:06 am I'm still nerding out about the end of the Rockets game, and continuing to learn things I hadn't noticed...both involve Donte and Kyle. We all loved Donte's 3-pointer to tie the game with a minute left, but I hadn't noticed Kyle's role. He brings the ball up the court, and as he does, he motions to Donte exactly where he wants him to go to get open for the shot. He doesn't seem to worry about showing Houston the play they are going to run, maybe because he is confident he can set a screen to get Donte open. And that's what happens! He bounces a pass to Julius as Donte makes a big circle around Kyle's excellent screen (well, if I'm a Rockets fan, I am pissed off about a moving screen!), and Ju hands the ball back to a now wide-open Donte who doesn't miss. Perfect play!
I've also raved about Donte joining Kyle in doubling KD so he couldn't receive the inbound pass at the end of the game. Again though, it was Kyle yelling at Donte and motioning to leave the inbounding Thompson alone and double KD. And again it worked perfectly.
We all know Kyle's offensive limitations, but when he's out there, it's like having a coach on the court...on offense and defense. Go back and re-watch these two plays if you have time. We probably don't win this game without SloMo.

Very true about Thompson being a non-shooter, but also with so little time on the clock, I don't know that there would have been time for an inbound pass, a return pass and a shot...just good recognition by Kyle.rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2026 10:34 amI saw that pointing by Anderson, reminiscent of when he did it in the playoffs to get KAT a wide open three. I had forgotten that Finchy didn't used Kyle as much in the playoffs...he played 22.6 MPG in the regular season, and only 15.4 in the playoffs. Some of the difference was due to extra minutes he played when he started 10 games due to injuries during the regular season, but perhaps Finchy has a problem with him in the playoffs. I don't know.

Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid was fined $50,000 by the NBA on March 27, 2026, for questioning the integrity of game officials.
Seems to me the integrity of the game is truly in question. Naz just said it out loud. Apparently the truth in the NBA has a value of negative $50,000.

This isn't the first time either! I remember in years past the exact same thing. Not sure if it was only Foster games or not. If someone wants to do a deep dive they can probably find it.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 28, 2026 3:46 pm Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid was fined $50,000 by the NBA on March 27, 2026, for questioning the integrity of game officials.
