Brent Rooker stats
14 Hr 47 Rbi .281 avg .398 OBP .933 OPS

Put him in left and Eddie can play right field he did it for 3 years.

I hear ya. I've been a Cave guy and watching condensed games I'm probably seeing the bad plays in the field more than the good ones (which he had a nice one a couple days ago) but...yeesh that ball getting past him last night was bad. And yeah I haven't even said anything about his bat yet.

Unfortunate that Wade and Rooker are both hurt.

Adding more...who the heck is even playing OF in AAA? Note Cave's AAA Numbers are pretty good. He has to be better (meaning less bad) than he has shown in his various stints with the Twins this year. At this point until someone gets healthy they probably don't have another option.

Actually didn't know Rooker was hurt

I'd be interested to hear some names.

FWIW Jake Cave in AAA was hitting like .352 .398 OBP and .589 slugging percentage for an even higher OPS than Rooker. They have a similar number of ABs and Rooker has nearly double the strikeouts of Cave. Last season Cave was a pretty worthwhile 4th OF and he had some stretches where he looked like a starter. He obviously overall hasn't been good this season but maybe there is a decent argument that he likely isn't some absolute trash player that should be jettisoned yesterday. This is his 2nd year in the majors and is still 26.

I am with you there. I wonder if they have enough of a sample size at MLB lever this year to know where his struggles are coming from.

He is at 372 MLB ABs which isn't really a ton. This season he has had 4 different stints in the majors this season with a total of just 89 ABs. At some point he has to not suck at the plate and be more judicious in the field but that is kind of a tough spot to produce and he wasn't playing everyday when he was up either...not that he should be.

I wouldn't put Rooker stats next to caves there totally different players. Like comparing Sano and Arraez stats.

I wonder if Cave continues to struggle if the give Kiriloff a chance. You saw them do this with Buxton back in the day. Since July 1st he's hitting .278 still has low OPS .708. I don't know just a thought.

Crazy!!!!

I hope Rooker gets healthy and is given a chance. It would be nice to see one of these young OF/!B guys come up and rack.

Twins pitching wasted a great game at the plate from our guy Jake cave!!!! After going 2-4 with 2 doubles today he is now at .321 OBP. That's...actually not that terrible.

I think some news is Sano has been looking pretty good at the plate lately. Could he actually be finally turning the corner? Ok know I'm being too hopeful.

Meanwhile Martin Perez...its not going the right direction for him. The panic/eject button seems more real. Does anyone have any thoughts about what has happened to him other than the league has caught up to him? Would he have value if he moved to the Pen?

I think Martin Perez has been the pitcher he's been the last 3 years. Shows glimmer of hope with his stuff but can't put it together. Also Sano since his 3-39 slump when they were switching his mechanics. Has a has .1040 OPS dude is on fire the last month and change.
