He looks rough. I wouldn't go near him in spite of the real talent there. I don't see him ever getting back to where he was as a player.

Would they make this trade before tonight's game?!? That would be a lot of bodies not playing. What's our PG rotation?

I suspect if anything happens, it might not be until afterwards...

If this trade does materialize, I hope we finally get the details on contract negotiations that took place. How much was D'Angelo Russell's representation asking for? What were the Timberwolves willing to give? That is meaningful context that I think the fans deserve to know in relation to whatever inevitably happens.

Maybe they were so far off in negotiations that both sides felt like a move had to be made. I would be pretty bummed about that, but we don't know enough specifics.

26.7 ppg
11.9 rebs
64.6% TS
29.8 PER

He's been mostly great... when he's actually played. But... I've seen clips and stories about how he and Westbrook looked checked out at various times last night. Davis played poorly overall.

Obviously, the rub with him would be injuries and availability which I have to believe would temper any offers for him.

Yeah the natural talent is real. But he doesnt pop with the movement he once had. He would need a top notch medical approach. Not sure its all there for him.

By the way, Darren Wolfson tweeted that he was texted by someone who has a big hand in this rumored trade and confirmed that talks were being had, but nothing had been agreed to. We'll see.

TC playing hardball?

Adrian Wojnarowski @wojespn

ESPN Sources: Three-team trade is largely hinging on how Minnesota values D'Angelo Russell in potential deal and their return of draft assets. Lakers and Jazz have significant deal structure in place, but Minnesota has been engaged elsewhere on Russell too.

What picks could we obtain? LAL only have their 2027 and 2029 picks that can be traded at earliest. Utah would likely ask for both of those to take on Westbrook and his contract. Leaving LAL with only 2nd rounders to send to us.

A 2nd... which would be pretty meaningless? Maybe redo on one of the pick swaps with Utah?

If the Wolves have to redo their pick swap situation with Utah, that's a telling sign that they think this team isn't built to succeed long term.
