The Wolves did not play well and this game never should have been this close given how depleted the Heat were coming into tonight's game. However, growing up as a Vikings fan I remember Bud Grant saying that "winning begets winning." In other words, winning become sort of a habit. So even though the Wolves are allowing far inferior teams to nearly beat them, the Wolves are still winning those games.
I still don't like the way this team plays. Watching the Wolves, I see a team that adds up to less than the sum of its parts. But as we come close to putting the first quarter of the season behind us, the Wolves are positioned to be a true contender this season if they become the team the Wolves front office thought they'd be as a result of the Gobert deal. Wednesday's matchup against the Pacers will be a good intermediate test for the Wolves. Based on how the Wolves played tonight and the other night against the Sixers, I would expect them to lose to Indiana on Wednesday. But maybe we'll see the team take another step forward in their ball movement, defensive tenacity, basketball IQ and rebounding.
Wolves v Heat GDT
Re: Wolves v Heat GDT
Naz Reid was - 25 tonight. The next lowest was DLO at - 2.

Have to pay homage to KAT's game tonight. 25 efficient points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 1 huge block tonight.

Don't care. We're 2.5 games out of first place in the West

Same KAT as usual. High offensive output, low BB IQ. I guess we can take the good with the bad.

This betting the opposition to cover but the Wolves still win strategy is getting very profitable.

No.
70 mil dollars for 1/5 total shot attempts. Even though the 1 made shot by DLO and the last 4 fts by Gobert were key in the win, the team shouldn't even be in that position against that Miami squad. It's difficult to comprehend.
This team has no idea how to utilize Gobert.

Via @SuperStatsDave, when Towns & Gobert were on the floor together tonight in 18:10 -- MIN outscored MIA 46-31 (+15) & Heat shot 32%.
In the other 29:50 -- MIN got outscored 70-59 (-11) & Heat shot 43%.
