He's biased, but former Michigan State teammate Draymond Green said this a.m. he thinks new Wolf Adreian Payne has "All Star talent"

If the Big Dancing Bear says he'll be an All-Star, then I'm in! I think Flip is trying to trade Thad and feels like Payne can be our starting PF. If we're going with the Payne/AB combo next year, I hope he signs a solid vet for another position.

I hope there is a stop gap 4 before handing over starting duties to Payne/AB. Preferably someone long who is excellent at help D. These guys should be earning minutes with a solid 4 in front of them who hustles his ass off.

Thad over his last 15 games: 16.2 PPG (48 FG%, 91 FT%), 6.2 RPG, 3.8 APG, 1.7 SPG.

Hmm, so he's finally able to play the type of game he's comfortable with due to having some veteran pieces back in the lineup and his numbers improve. I expect them to continue to get better too. "Disaster" is the wrong word, well, unless you're completely ignoring context.

I'm concerned. A better coach than Flip (Yeah I said it) couldn't use him, so the Wolves gave up the (potentially) #15 pick for him?

And this whole "I called Tom Izzo" crap? To use a Michigan Stage example, I believe the Vikings called Nick Saban about Demetrius Underwood. Are we gong to give Underwood more time to develop, or are we going to go ahead and call that one? When are pro guys going to learn that a College coach is not going to rock his boat by being honest about who is and isn't a schmuck? He's not going to let it get out to future recruits that he can't keep a secret.

For the near max? Sure! Why not. We did just trade a future first for a guy none of us truly believe is the long-term answer at PF.

I agree thad has been playing very good lately, but he could and probably would leave in the offseason, that is why I am willing to trade him. It also matters what the wolves would get back of course

I probably wouldn't want to but I could see a sign and trade in the offseason of green for thad

Do you expect that a lottery protected 1st round draft pick should net us our long term solution at the 4? Hard to satisfy you with those expectations. I think everyone just realizes he is a work in progress
Nothing wrong with that for where our team is at as far as I am concerned.

Of course not, but the point I was making was that I wouldn't trade a future asset like that for a bench big at best. It's just silly, in my opinion. That 1st seems better used in a package deal to get someone proven, but now that it's in Atlanta's possession, we can't trade a future 1st for some time. All for a 24-year old project at PF.

This means Payne will likely dress tonight, but I wouldn't expect him to play...

Word on Gary Neal, per contact: flew back to Baltimore for a personal matter. So a no-go for tonight. Did take his physical. #twolves
