Any interest in Dion Waiters as a gunner off the bench?

Yes. He's a young, athletic scorer who played well last season. I'd be interested depending on price and who else we can sign instead.

If I'm being realistic about our options in FA, I wouldn't mind seeing this as an outcome:
Ricky/LaVine/Wiggins/Luc/Towns starting with a bench of-
Dunn/Waiters/Bazz/Belly/Dieng/Draftee/Aldrich/Tyus/Rush

World beaters? No, but a greatly improved bench. The best part - no Deng, Turner, Mozgov, Crabbe type contracts.

Dion is an interesting name to bring up. I think the problem with hoping to sign Waiters is he will probably have teams offering him a starting SG spot or at worst 6th man. I'm not sure the Wolves are a landing spot in that regard. If he doesn't have any starting spots offered things could get interesting. Here is one article making a case he will get paid by teams with some needs for a player like him.

I think Waiters may not get quite that kind of money suggested in the article and he is far from a perfect player but he did some good things the last 2 seasons and still is just 25.

The more I think of it my ideal off-season is Taj Gibson, JJ Redick, and re-signing Bazz. Help on every level. Don't know if this is what will materialize but it actually seems within the realm of reality.

Not my ideal, but it would significantly improve our bench and would definitely improve our 3-point shooting. It's also pretty realistic although signing Redick would be expensive.

Help me understand the minutes distribution between Wiggins, Bazz, LaVine, and Redick? This also assumes that Thibs only wants to play Dunn at PG and never off the ball with the likes of Jones at PG.

Yeah, I agree. Zach is a SG, and Wig's best position might be SG...at least for the time being. And I"m not ocnvinced that Dunn's best position isnt SG, although he is far from ideal there. So the last thing this team needs is another SG. Much better to find a SF who can play tough defense and allow Wig to play some SG.

My problem with this is Wiggins is not this phenomenal all-around basketball player that will now flourish because we stick him at SG. I want more 3-point shooting and more play-making in the backcourt without having to stick Wiggins there. Which is why Redick might be a reasonable off-season target. Or why I have no problem drafting Monk if he is BPA at #7.

Not sure how Redick helps with play making (or Monk for that matter). Plus even if you keep Wiggins as a full-time small forward, is Redick and LaVine really going to be happy to split 48 minutes or less (if Dunn plays some SG too) between them?

Redick will never sign here....
