If Kg keeps getting 6 rebounds in 20 mins and clogging up the lane next to Towns and manages to get out of the season uninjured I am VERY happy.

Eight million a year to grab 6 boards. Keep getting them checks, Kevin.

Way to keep being oblivious to KG's real value. Well worth the money.

You're missing the point, Tim...I finally figured out what's going on here. Cam has a good basketball mind and he watches the games, so he knows how much better the Wolves are with KG on the court. He knows that KG has now played in 7 games since he returned, and the Wolves are 5-2 in those games. Think about that...the Wolves are 5-2 in games that KG has played in!

No this isn't about basketball...it's about KG having committed an unpardonable sin for which he can never be forgiven.

He had the gall to allow himself to be traded for Thad Young :furious: .

Who??? Oh, that guy we were paying 9+ mil for his 5 rebounds in over thirty minutes of play. Cam didn't seem to have a problem with him though, and he played zero defense.

Really, guys? Have you never heard Jalen Rose and/or Bill Simmons say "keep getting dem checks" to players that are getting more money than they're worth? Eight million isn't cheap for what KG provides, and yes, I understand everything that he brings to the table at this stage of his career. It's still not really worth $8M. He's getting that much because he's the best player in franchise history and Flip Saunders was in control at the time. Make no mistake about it.

Make all the Thad Young jokes you want to. He's a much better player than this board is willing to accept and I'm not going to argue about it anymore.

Count me in the group that thinks KG is easily worth the $8 million. To me it's not about stats, it's about wins/losses and whether a player makes a team and those around him better or not. As I mentioned above, KG is 5-2 in his return to the Wolves, and while this year's wins are against likely lottery teams, most of his games last year were against playoff teams. It's a small sample size, but 5-2 is a remarkable record for this current Wolves edition...unheard of, actually. Beyond that, we just look better offensively and defensively when he is out there. I want Glen to pay for guys who bring us wins, and the early returns tell me KG brings us wins.

We can go back and forth here about KG's teaching value and whether he accelerates development...that's just opinion. But wins and losses are facts, and 5-2 for the Wolves is damn good.

Wins and losses are facts, and Kevin Garnett doesn't help win any of those games without Ricky Rubio playing, plain and simple. Maybe you should stop giving a guy that has played no more than 22 minutes in any game with the Wolves since being acquired so much credit for a 48-minute game and credit the key cogs that actually make this team go.

I'm right there with you in calling Ricky the straw that stirs the drink...we're a completely different team without him. But even Ricky couldn't turn the Wolves into a team that could win 5 out of 7 games. In fact, Ricky played four more games after Flip shut down KG for the season, and they were all losses. There are a lot of key cogs on the Wolves, and we've added a new big one in KAT, but KG has that same quality Ricky has...value beyond his stats in making his teammates better. I know we see this one differently, Cam, so we'll just have to leave it unsettled.

The difference is that Ricky affects the game for 30+ minutes and KG doesn't. In every one of those games, KG was never a top-three player (guys that carry the team) in terms of importance so why is he being credited for wins? This argument is like me telling you that Tayshaun Prince is a main reason why the Wolves are 2-0 right now. It's just silly.
