Shooting in an empty gym is fun to watch, but it doesn't mean a whole lot. Murray's an elite shooter in this class -- arguably the best -- but game tape still matters the most during the scouting process.

It is tough to say at 5th. Historically this team does pretty good picking 5th.

Not a bad track record for us picking 5th. 2 HOF, 1 - All-Star and 2 Strong Starters.

Murray has moved up to number 3 on my board. I will take him over bender,hield and dunn right now. I believe he can play pg in the league. Camden has made solid arguments for him and I think he is on point.

Murray is a very good shooter, but I don't think he's elite like Buddy. Lots of guys can make 40% shooting 3s in college. Not many make over 45% from beyond the arc, over 50% overall and 88% from the free throw line. Buddy's in his own class. You pumped up McBuckets and Stauskas a lot during their drafts and now Murray. These are all guys that are one way offensive players. If I'm not mistaken Thibs emphasized defense and how important having good perimeter defense is. I'm expecting a guy he projects will play well on both sides. You even used to post that you didn't like Murray because he is a bad defender.

He's also a lot older. Age and college experience really matters when it comes to comparing these two. I don't necessarily have a strong preference one way or the other, but you can't say Buddy is a better all-around player without inserting the caveat that he's been in school for 4 years vs. 1 year.

Call it whatever you'd like to, but Murray's in a league of his own too. His 3P shooting as a freshman was better than everyone on that list not named after a spice. I think that alone deems him special.

- 15 players in NCAA Division 1 made 100 or more threes this year; Murray was the only freshman (T-4 with 110). Buddy Hield made 93 his junior year.

- The only freshman in NCAA Division 1 history to make more threes than Jamal Murray is... Stephen Curry (122).

- Murray shot 56.0% coming off screens. (!!!)

- Murray shot 46.1% on catch-and-shoot opportunities (193 attempts). Hint: that's damn good.

- Murray shot 43.5% as a spot-up shooter (168 attempts). Hint: that's damn good too.

- Only five freshmen in NCAA Division 1 shot 40% or better from 3P-range in 2015-16.

Also, while Murray needs to improve defensively, he did hold opponents to just 37% shooting against him and created turnovers on nearly 11% of the possessions he defended. That's actually pretty decent. He is no where near the awful defender that some portray him as, but again, he must grow on that end.

TeamRicky: I'm not sure where the Doug McDermott pumping was coming from on my end. Can't remember myself boasting about him that much. I'd appreciate it if you didn't make false claims. Actually, I'd appreciate it even more if you just didn't reply to anything I say, and vice versa, from now on. I think I proposed that long ago. Seems like we'd both be better for it.

If Buddy were a freshman, he'd be number 1 overall so I get what you are saying, but a lot of upperclassmen made dramatic improvements despite their age. Duncan, Butler, Draymond Green, Curry, Klay, Middleton, Lillard, Horford, Noah, Millsap, Crowder, Tony Allen were seniors or juniors when they came out and still made dramatic improvements in the NBA. Buddy is a hard worker and I have no doubt he's going to be a much more well rounded NBA than many think.
