Can Perez pitch in the pen?
They promoted Randy Dobnak. I am ready to see Brusdar Graterol if he is healthy.

Dyson Drama

Interesting read.
Lewis Thorpe threw 6 innings of 1 hit ball at AAA. I wouldn't mind seeing him given a shot at Perez's spot.
Any chance we rest starting pitchers at any point? Letting them skip a start? It seems Berrios wears down as the season progresses.

Hopefully Dyson gets some rest and is fine. Not a good start for him though regardless.
I think Smeltzer is the guy that's going to get a shot at a spot in the rotation. It doesn't sound like Pineda will be out long.
If the division race stays close they may not have the relative luxury of trying to find rest for starters. I'd guess they have thought of doing that though. I believe Falvey and Lavigne have both said they tend to map out who is going to play a number of games in advance.

That is very much a concern. We need to take care of business against the Indians. I think we have 10 games left against them.

I've been watching all cleveland's Condensed games for about a month and was often watching a some of them here and there before that. That's a good team over there. Plesac and Bieber have been terrific just 24 years old and Plesac is a rookie. Cleveland has been doing all this down 2 very good starting pitchers in Klubar and Carrasco and then had enough pitching to be able to deal Bauer while fighting for the playoffs. It's pretty impressive. Hopefully the Twins can start actually developing some pitching all along their ranks too. There are certainly some intriguing prospects.

1 game lead at this point after losing to Cleveland.
Starting pitching has been horrible. I think this is where a true ace can changes things. They break slumps. It doesn't seem like anyone is getting cut to save a little cash so we will have to hope either we have guys get hot or someone comes up from the minors and pulls a Francisco Liriano or Scott Erickson.
I doubt that happens since we have been very strict on the number of innings a pitcher pitches in a year with our young guys.

I think Smeltzer pitched better than the box score is gonna show. Castro just had a swing to get on the board.

Dobnak with a pretty good MLB debut.

Agree on both accounts. Dobnak just battled. Good outling.
Not having Cruz hurt. Sano was in the position to do damage a few times and ended the inning. You can't have that happen from your 3rd hitter.

I think you are being a little hard on him as Sano walked twice. Other guys did less. Sounds like Cruz is gonna be fine. Mourneu explained the same thing happened to his wrist and he didn't have pain after he finally tore the tendon and he was fine.
Our guy Jake Cave staying hot with a couple more hits. :)
