Damn, Royce O'Neal is a really solid two-way player. Good get for the Nets.

Royce O'Neal is kind of who I want Wendell Moore, Jr. to become some day. Seems like a good deal for Brooklyn.

Kinda random though....are the Jazz really looking to tear things down if they are trading really good role players that compliment stars for first rounders???

The Jazz have two signature star players still on its roster... whether they keep them or trade them... they should be enough to sustain some success without a huge rebuild.

I think that's right, Abe. However, I suspect the Jazz will trade Gobert. Nevertheless, I'm sure they'll keep Donovan and give his age they can retool around him.

If Nets sell off Durant, do you think they will shop Ben Simmons? I'm on board with DLO and one FRP and Naz/Bolmaro, but not sure if I'd offer much more given Ben's back injury and mental health issues.

Right, but O'Neale just seems like one of these guys that fits with any set of good, high usage players, especially Mitchell. It just feels sort of random to trade him for a 1st rounder unless it's the leading indicator of an all out rebuild.

Whoa! KD wants a trade? This offseason just got more interesting.

Man, what a cluster*&ck the Nets have been since they got Kyrie and KD. So much talent, but also so much drama. They had such a fun team the year before they got those two. I get that you should do whatever you can to acquire star talent when they are still in their prime, but man, when the talent you are adding is a couple sulky, disgruntled, and unpredictable personalities, that's a hell of a risk to take.

That's right, Drew. Building teams the way the Nets attempted is alway fraught. It worked for Miami with LeBron and Bosh, but Wade was already there and, even then, it only lasted a few. years. It obviously hasn't panned out as intended for the Lakers. So it can work, but it's dicey. And if you pursue great players who are weak in the character department you end up like the Nets. Very different from LeBron, Bosh and Wade - none of them whiny, lazy or selfish or weird.

Obviously, this isn't ending well for the Nets, although can quickly start developing a foundation for a rebuild if they make the right deal for Durant and then deal both Kyrie and Simmons. Meanwhile, this is going to end very well for the Suns. They'll swap Ayton and lots of picks for Durant. Then, barring serious injury, they'll probably win the NBA championship next year.

It's been less than a decade since the last horrific Brooklyn implosion.

That one can be blamed on a impetuous gimmick owner. This one on entitled athletes.

But the result will largely be the same.
