You make a good point unless they think they can flip those picks in another trade to add another player that can help them now.

SP is right about the Sixers being in win-now mode. So I agree with you, Monster, that the Sixers would view picks from Minnesota as assets to acquire veteran talent. If the Wolves end up doing a Simmons deal, I suspect there will be a third team involved. If DLO's off the table, then the Sixers would be looking to acquire a good PG along with Beasley and McDaniels. I could see a third team getting the picks and maybe Layman in exchange for a PG going to the Sixers. Maybe OKC gets involved and Kemba Walker ends up with the Sixers.

But again, I'd be really unhappy if we end up giving up Beasley, McDaniels and two future 1st-round picks for Simmons.

If the Sixers want Kemba Walker the only thing the Sixers would need is salary. OKC would be happy to unload him for expiring deals. Kemba Walker could be an interesting target for the Sixers if they do a Simmons deal. Kemba could agree to a buyout and if the Sixers need a lead guard Maybe Kemba takes a massive pay cut to go to a contender which the Sixers would be...of course the Sixers could keep Simmons and land Kemba too with him taking a pay cut. Simmons does have his flaws but a more dynamic guard would be really interesting on the Sixers with the group they have including Simmons.

I think pretty much everyone would be unhappy giving up what you suggested if Beasley McDaniels and a couple first round picks. That's honestly getting near the price of a legit superstar player.

Exactly, Monster! I just don't see Simmons being worth that price. As for Kemba, hard to know what it would take for the Sixers to get Kemba - assuming they're even interested in getting him.

Pulled this analysis off the Sixers Board at RealGM and it mirrors my thinking that a trade centered around DLO as the best player is unlikely. DLO and parts for Ben is my fantasy trade but admittedly its super unlikely.

Here are the names (and draft picks) that have been thrown around as the key pieces in a potential Ben trade. Apologies if I missed some. Rank them and put in three cutoffs.

Top of the list: players where you would give Simmons and also add value.
After the first cutoff: players where you would trade Simmons straight up (ignore issues regarding salary cap, etc)
After the second cutoff: players you would accept as the key piece in a Simmons trade, but it would require additional value - more players/picks/etc
After the third cutoff: players that you don't want at all as the best piece in a trade for Simmons

--- Would give Ben and add value ---
Lillard
Beal

--- Would trade Simmons straight-up ---
Fox
SGA
Paul George

--- Acceptable as the key Piece in a Simmons trade but not straight-up ---
#3 (Cleveland)
Anthony Edwards
Halliburton
Lowry
Ingram
Lavine
Sexton
Russell Westbrook

-- Can't be the key in a Simmons trade ---
Brogdon
Wiggins/Wiseman/#7 (This has been mentioned, but I'm not even sure which one is supposed to be the best part of the trade. I'm not a fan unless they are going elsewhere in a 3-way trade, so I have it down here.)
CJ
DeRozan
#4 (Toronto)
DLo Russell
Kemba
Hield
