On the latest Raised by Wolves podcast one of the guys made a point that what the Wolves need at minimum is a few players that know who they are as basketball players. Even if that means they can only do a couple things somewhat well. They said the Wolves have so many guys that really don't know who they are as basketball players. I think of guys of varying levels of impact that aren't top FAs like Tolliver Patterson and Sefelosha. There are plenty of other guys like that and I think just having a few guys with some complimentary skills to the roster that go out do their thing would help this team a lot.

Help me understand the minutes distribution between Wiggins, Bazz, LaVine, and Redick? This also assumes that Thibs only wants to play Dunn at PG and never off the ball with the likes of Jones at PG.

I am assuming Lavine will not be back to full minutes for a while and hope he isn't. I do think Dunn's space on this team is at the point. I think his minutes a the two this year were mostly experimentation. If defensive matchups dictate him playing 2 in certain games fine. Bazz should progress to split minutes at the 3 and 4. Reddick would be our starting two with spot minutes at the 3. Lavine, Dunn and Bazz anchor the bench. Not really worried about Lavine's ego. He should be earning his minutes along with the rest of the team at this point. Veteran leadership via a player who contributes would be very helpful.

Even if we re-sign Bazz (50/50 at best?), I am not convinced he is a shoe-in for the regulsr rotation, depending on who we add at the 3/4...

And that is what favors the 50% of him not re-signing. There are teams he could be getting more PT on then ours.

To me, this isn't a "Free Agent Year". You sign free agents when you are close. Is anyone close, other than SAS? If GSW and CLE come back closely resembling what they are now & stay healthy, next season is already written.

So what is this summer? A trade summer for all the idiots who think they are accomplishing something. Do whatever POR deal they can, like Hill for Crabbe/#15 if necessary. Then make Aldrich/Belly/Dieng/Pek/Rubio available for young players and/or draft considerations, taking back all sorts of pupu to then re-trade or use as a bench.

It's time that we as fans write off the next year, and possibly more.

Ouch. Lots of truth in there. So would you take Deng from LA if we could weasel Russel or Randle along with him?

Absolutely. I view LAL and NYK as main stops on the Idiot GM's Pub Crawl, and ORL & SAC are definitely on the list. If MIN ended this off-season with 8-10 good players 25/younger and 5-7 god-awful play-out-the-string vets, I would be absolutely giddy.

That might be the post of the year. I'm getting strange looks for laughing at my computer.

Thank you. For the record, I consider the ORL & SAC GM jobs as two of the worst in sports. Those ownership situations are beyond repugnant.

You just don't go from bottom feeder to contender overnight. We need to build a winning culture and that requires signing veteran players who are consistent in supporting our young stars. This constant rebuild needs to end. It's always wait for another draft pick, wait for another draft pick. We have the best young big man in the game. We have a 22 year old wing who is a top 16 scorer already and he doesn't even have a great handle or shot yet. We have another wing who's the dunk champ and can shoot the lights out. When is it enough to start think about getting them the help they need to start building a winning culture? 22 year olds don't run this league. Veterans do. So why are we expecting our 22 year olds to just keep carrying the load with a shit supporting cast holding on to cap space that's just going to be reallocated to them in the next 2 summers with nothing left to add anyone at that point? This summer and next summer are the only two "free agent years" we have left. After that you have to start trading away pieces just to open up the cap space to sign anyone.
