I look at Green's stats and I am not that impressed. I would not offer him crazy money. If you want to offer crazy money, go after Otto Porter, he's much better than Green and thee years younger too. Also, Noel is better than Green.

unfortunately I think both of those players will have their contracts matched by their respective teams at any amount

I actually think Otto Porter is a better fit for us than Paul George. Porter is only 23 so he could grow with our young core. The problem is even if we offer a max deal to Porter, Washington would match it. I would definitely consider working out a trade with them if Porter came to a deal with us so they didn't match.

Exactly, my point that it makes little sense to list Green with the other unrestricted free agents because he's restricted. We'd have to work out a trade for him and I wouldn't want to give anything up to get him on top of overpaying him.

....and I"m telling you Memphis isn't going to be able to afford to keep him due to the Parsons contract, there wont be any trading involved

Sure they can resign Green. They will be under the cap if they don't resign Carter, Randolph and Allen. Plus, I believe if they wanted to go over the cap to resign their own free agent they could it. I don't want to get in a bidding war for JaMychal Green. He's not a difference maker. Millsap and Otto Porter are difference makers that I'd max out for.

Yeah you don't get in a bidding war for Green and I like him quite a bit. This team need to find their own Player like that instead of having to pay in money or assets to get them. You don't think of Green as a weak guy but he came into the league as a 217lb PF/C and he was almost 22. Guys can add strength as their careers go on.

We are on the same wavelength Doper about the PF spot. Another thing the last few coaches have said is various wing players could play small ball PF and then...it ends up not happening much despite it making some sense especially with Bazz. I'm not sure playing Bazz or Wiggins or Rush as a small ball PF would have helped much but he hear about that possibility every year.

My main thing last offseason was that they needed to add a combo forward in the mold of Daunte Cunningham. They really only had one of those guys Belly and he was no sure thing to be even decent and I am a fan of his. My guy was Quincy Acy he would have cost the vet min and plays his butt off and all that type of stuff. he seems like a really well liked guy and a good dude. Whenthe Nets signed him for the rest of the season he bought $250 gift cards for all his former d-league team players and got some shoes for others in the organization. Wouls he have saved the season? Hell no but the Wolves have to add a PF/SF hybrid type to the roster maybe even 2 of them. Obviously having one that's more of at least a fringe starter would be nice. We will see what happens.

Uh, KAT was a our 4 sometimes this season, at least when he played with Dieng. I think it's too simplistic to say "the problem is position X". The problems were many - team defense, mental toughness, selfishness (at times). Thibs has his work cut out for him.

KAT and G as our bigs is double the problem because both play out of position when KAT was the 4. I do think KAT can play the 4 but then our gaping hole is at the 5 because G cannot play big. KAT is a 5 in an ideal world and maybe just put a competent NBA starting 4 next to him. Milsap, Ibaka. Problem solved.

What if you put Deandre Jordan next to him?

That would be a unique play and one of the 2 or 3 centers in the league (him, gobert, boogie?) in which would actually warrant moving KAT to the 4. I say KAT is still out of position then but Jordan covers so much ground defensively that we would come out on the positive side there. If you can get us Jordan without giving up KAT or Wiggins go for it. I think that the clippers will walk from Blake before Jordan though.
