I believe it is more advantageous to keep him this year as I see his value going up. He'll still be a sharpshooter next year and will have one less year on his deal. I'd rather see what we add in the off season via FA and the draft then next year use martin as a piece in a package to acquire whichever our greatest need is.

Rubes, his value is only going to go down. That is not even debatable. Now was the best time to move him.

I disagree. He is what he is. No defense, no facilitation. He gets buckets. Instant offense. That play carries better in later years. He will have at least the same value next year. Likely more as obviously nobody is going hard for him right now, but the chips may fall different next year. Maybe 3 teams covet him next year after failing in the playoffs this year.

I'd even be fine keeping him for the duration of his contract. He'd be the ultimate 6th man for us.

Nobody's value increases by the year when you are in your 30's. And at least he's healthy currently. That is always going to be a concern and potential drag on his value in future seasons.

You're looking at value from the perspective that value is definitive. I look at it as a fluctuating commodity. Many things can contribute to an increase or decrease of value.

Based on how you see it, solely on his play, I say that this value holds very steadily until this time next year. I think you have more people commanding his services next year, as this year there obviously aren't many, and at that time you sell high and package for a piece you want.

Flip knows what he's doing. If martin isn't traded its because he didn't want to sell low.

Most deals happen without a whisper of a rumor.

We aren't a championship team in the next two years with out something big developing so I see him as a minute blocker for LaVine who I think is one of the more talented young players in the game. Moving Martin makes us worse in the here and now but how much? LaVine with starters minutes gets to develop along side Rubio and that alone puts me in the move Martin side of things. We all know Flip wants the playoffs though so I doubt he moves Martin and with what we pay him its not all that bad if we keep him.

Things are starting to heat up.

Thunder are talking to Nets, Jazz, Pistons and Pacers for a deal involving Jackson. Here is to hoping we can get involved in one of these scenarios so we can get more back than just KG
