Like i said yesterday when news of mem wanting thibs and their front office firings came out, i want joerger and prefer him over fred. He has ties to flip and the city and has actual nba coaching experience and can coach both offense and deffense.

Hope it gets done. We will be on the right track if we hire him.

Former adelman and wolves assistant shawn respert was hired by joerger as an assistant coach last season so we might be able to retain some of our assistants. I hope sikma and david adelman stays. Porter can go elsewhere and i prefer a new lead assistant.

I would love if Sikma stayed. He seems to be great at developing guys at the 4/5.

Divac, webber, brad miller, yao, scola, love, pek, carl landry, chuck hayes and dieng.

Some of those bigs were already established when adelman and sikma(big man coach) got them but nevertheless they play their best basketball under them. Landry, hayes and dieng develop under sikma.

So according to Chris Wallace the current Memphis GM (for who knows how long) the Wolves contacted Memphis about Joerger weeks ago. Here is the radio interview. The Radio host doesn't hold back its somewhat amusing.

Edit: I should credit that I saw the linked interview on Rubechat.

So Joerger is in town today, did we assemble a welcome committee at MSP?

Wow! GREAT find monster!!! Barreiro could learn a few things about how to grill Flip on the Funkadelic!

It seems so obvious that Memphis is trying to position themselves in two ways: 1) to get as much compensation from the Wolves as possible, and 2) trying to sell their fan base on the idea that letting Joerger go is "the right thing to do for Joerger's benefit", and not "we don't want him". And the interviewer just ain't buying it!

The only thing I wish we had a better understanding of is why doesn't Pera want him?

I assume this means Glen Taylor wants to talk to all three.. Plus the Wolves need to show the Griz they have alternatives to Joerger for when compensation is negotiated.

Marc J. Spears ?@SpearsNBAYahoo 1m
Lionel Hollins, Sam Mitchell and Dave Joeger among candidates expected to soon interview for Wolves head coach job, a source said.
