The should have a bit thicker skin. I pay my ticket price especially in this economy I can boo and cheer whoever I want. If you win and play well all that shit goes away. There's a reason why they're booing it's because everyone in the arena can tell the effort lacks sometimes.

I get this. A bit crazy for Wolves fans to have super high expectations at this point. We're coming. Kyle Lowry and Bam are no slouches, this was a good game and good win.

Abe's Late Night DVR Review:

- Edward says he's "giving everything?" And we shouldn't boo? Bullshit. I want Edwards to box out... or pay attention to his man. After a terrible 1st half, he hit many big shots in that second half, which was awesome. But he gave up almost as many with his truly dreadful play on the other end. We'll all see the block shot which was also awesome. But for fun... go back and watch the tape. So many times, a guy like Martin or Strus would simply glide past the standstill Edwards for a board or backdoor. Edwards played the type of basketball that previous players in MN played while on losing teams. It's fine against a team without several key players on the tail end of a back-to-back and end of a road trip.

Barely. It's not going to cut it when it matters. But who thinks Edwards is going to see through all the accolades he received for that performance and own that effort? Because that quote doesn't seem to connect. We've seen this story before... I sincerely hope it's different this time.

- Russell. Not good. Not good...

- How many people thought Towns was NOT going to get called for a 6th foul vs. Lowry? I figured it would be the first possession... turns out it was 30 seconds later. But still, Lowry is such a gimmick flopper who gets so much leniency from the officials and Towns is such a dumb, foul-prone player who gets so little leniency from the officials... I'd have bet my house an offensive foul was coming.

- Nowell is on a pretty short leash. He's a one-trick pony. Took 7 shots in 9 minutes.

- Gobert took 0 shots. Russell made 1 shot. That's $69M.

____________

- Jayden McDaniels had a solid game, especially after halftime. He has his issues, but this isn't the game to point them out.

- Good to see McLaughlin get hot from deep. Huge.

- Towns continues to be the only guy consistently feeding Gobert... and the guy who has led the league in fouls (and offensive fouls) multiple times. He's averaging a career high in fouls right now.

- Basketball is fun. Watching Kyle Lowry play basketball is not fun.

__________

Winning is nice. Even when it's like that.

Because we all know what it's like on the other side.

One thing about Miami is that they play their asses off. Man that team works hard. Pat Riley really deserves credit for imparting a blue-collar culture in a franchise that is located in a part of the country that would seemingly attract more of your flashy types. But no, this team just grinds.

Yeah, I'd may be more OK with some of Ant's defensive lapses if he was an efficient offensive machine, but he's not yet. He can throw away too many possessions with bad shots or turnovers AND loses track of his guy too often. He's got a long ways to go even though he can literally take over a game at any moment in time.

One thing I will say about Ant though that some of the other offensive stars of today can't do (Morant, Trae Young, and Doncic to name three examples) and that's absolutely lock down someone for a short stretch of time one on one. We don't see it all the time, but he's probably even better than McDaniels at guarding someone one on one when he puts his mind and energy to it. Because of this, he will never get targeted in a switch baiting scheme come playoff time. That's at least something....

The things Wolves fans seem to be booing are things that happen during any game. Getting blown out the way they did against the Knicks? Boo the night away? Tonight? They won. Onto the next game.

I wasn't at last night's game, but I probably would have joined the chorus of boos in the first half if I'd been there. Rudy and Edwards should grow up. They should imagine what it would be like playing in New York or Philly. More importantly, they should look in the mirror and take stock of what they are doing and not doing. Truth is, the Wolves were down by 13 at the end of the first half against a severely depleted team playing their second game in two nights. I'd like to believe it was just missed shots, but it was far more than that. It was poor effort and bad overall poor play, including lack of ball movement, settling for threes early in the clock, multiple defensive lapses, getting beat down the court, getting repeatedly out-hustled to loose balls and getting out-muscled over and over again. Heck, the Wolves assistant interviewed after halftime roundly criticized the Wolves effort.

The whining from Rudy and Edwards about the crowd booing is pathetic. It's especially pathetic from the 30-year old Gobert who didn't have a field goal the entire night and whose team was outrebounded once again. You're a veteran big guy who the Wolves spent a fortune in player/draft capital to acquire, Rudy. Show some toughness and leadership! Instead he grabs lets go of the ball and grabs his head after a little slap. Heck, from his reaction, you'd think he had just been shot. And then he complains about the booing. I'd like to believe there is someone in the Wolves organization -- head coach, PBO -- who will tell both Rudy and Edwards to hold themselves accountable and stop whining about boos from paying customers who have a right to expect better effort and better play from this team. Rosas probably would have done that. But alas, I don't think we have anyone in this organization who will.

Fair comments, but then you also need to recognize that Ant and Rudy answered the bell late in the game.

Its a blessing and a curse that Rudy doesn't make his own offense. Last night he impacted the game essentially without shooting. The flip side is he wanes when he works for good position and doesnt get the ball. Overall I think last night was a great game. Miami mucks up the game. Lowry is a perfect player for them in a way despite that he is at the tail end of his career. I wasn't surprised at all that it was such a tough win. Let's get a few more.

We do need to figure out how to get some easy lobs to Rudy. He's got terrible hands, so I get why guys are hesitant, and a lob is not an easy pass (a wraparound bounce pass should work often too), but there are a lot of times when he's really wide open down there and a decent pass should get an easy bucket. We need to make teams pay for hiding a small guy on him down low or drifting off of him for more help defense. Also, it should keep the defenders of our ball handlers guessing a bit, which might open up the floor just a bit more.

As a New Yorker, we boo everyone, and honestly, it's to our detriment. We behave like Philly fans now which is not good. As poorly as the Wolves played, they won, and even in NY and Philly, they're not booing you for that. If you get blown out or you display piss poor effort, they'll let you have it, but not in a win (and if it's about a particular player, they'll let the player hear it)

Again, they won the game. You can expect better play and more of what you wanted entering the season, but even good teams have nights where they win ugly. That's a part of an 82 game season. What would help the Wolves is a 15+ point win against a good team where it looks like everything's clicking. I think that will get you guys off their backs, but I'd rather see 50 of these ugly wins than these games where we look pleasing, but lose.

Long story short, you have to earn those boos in Philly and New York. If 2 of your best players are calling you out on this, specifically the two players who will be around for a while, take heed of it. It's not a surprise that the team started to get their act together a bit away from Target Center.
