Hope everyone is having a great day!
Take your cheerful attitude elsewhere. We can only bicker and be unpleasant here. Those are the rules.
Camden wrote:The argument is certainly there for those that think Dejounte Murray is a great player. I lean towards thinking Murray is just a good -- sometimes very good -- player. I wouldn't have given up multiple future protected first-round picks for Murray let alone two unprotected as well as another protected first. That's way too much in my mind and I'm glad Minnesota didn't cash in their assets on him. Give me another season of the status quo before doing that.
Cam - His numbers last season were those of a great player. However, that was obviously only one season. So it's perfectly reasonable to argue that he shouldn't be considered a great player - at least not yet. In that sense, the Hawks are gambling a bit because they paid a star player price to get a guy who played like a star for only one season. But there is always risk in trading for player; otherwise that player wouldn't be available for trade.
Apparently, the Jazz have made a trade offer to the Heat involving Donovan Mitchell. I haven't seen any details. Maybe the Jazz really are blowing it up.

Damn, Royce O'Neal is a really solid two-way player. Good get for the Nets.
If the Nets don't want to keep him they will have no problem getting their value back.
I believe they'll keep him as he fits very nicely with Ben Simmons.
It depends on if they actually try and win games or not. I'm not saying they are gonna just dump everyone but we will see. If Simmons is healthy they could completely change the way they play and be a really good defensive team with a bunch of shooters surrounding Simmons. i forgot they have Seth Curry too. Ok yeah they aren't going to just blow it up completely they are probably gonna try and win games. Thanks for letting me process all that. Lol
Gary Payton II is signing with Portland. Have to give the Blazers credit. It looked like they were done and in need of a rebuild that would force the departure of Lillard. But somehow, they've quickly constructed a competitive team around Lillard. The Clippers are getting Kawhi back and have made some other moves to improve the team. The Nuggets will have Jamal Murray and Porter back. The Pelicans are on the rise. The West will clearly be tougher next season. At least the Mavs lost Brunson. That helps. But they picked up Christian Wood.
The Wolves will definitely be in the running to make the playoffs next season if they stay relatively healthy. But they could easily end up in the lottery. Which is why it's important that the Wolves NOT trade their 2023 pick, at least not without full lottery protection.

Arvydas is back with Portland? :)
I always saw this path for Portland when they were making moves before the trade deadline.
Gary Payton ii is an example of a guy figuring it out late and becoming a worthwhile player. He got a very nice contract for an undrafted PG that couldn't shoot. I think it's possible Portland overpaid him and I've been a fan of Payton going back to that draft year.
