We should be VERY interested in absorbing one of the 3 players Houston is putting up in order to clear space at this point

Is it to early to trade Butler?
I hear the Bulls would give us Dunn and a 1st rounder.

Adding Butler puts us in play for good FA's that would be better use of the space than absorbing one of the Rockets.

Trade him to Utah for #24 and draft Bell

There are some good players who may be sliding down here tonight. I hope Glen has an extra pile of cash laying around that he lets Thibs use to buy us a second rounder.
I'm still not feeling great about Patton. I guess it's a bit of a home run swing. His mobility could make him useful on defense, and I like his ability to run the floor, but other than that . . . I just don't see much there. His horrific FT% suggests we shouldn't hold out any hope for his shot. Maybe he turns into a Hassan Whiteside kind of guy, who sucks for years and then blows up, but . . . meh. There are other guys who would have served a role for us.

I"d like to add a 6th man of the year to our bench though

Just watched some video on Patton. I was pretty impressed. He could be great pick in a year or two. Jim Petersen absolutely loves him.

I think Patton is exactly that and someone Thibs is investing in for the long haul. He'll probably get D-League reps and we will try to develop him properly. I can't possibly see him being part of the regular rotation next year. Good. This is exactly what I wanted - No rookies in the main 9-man rotation!
We do have to work the free agent market though....we've got a couple holes to fill still!
