He can get his shot off quickly has a good handle and step backs and footwork to get looks. He fired up 3's and doesn't just have to be spotted up to take them. His FG% is under 40% but that's partly because he took so any 3's and only hit 33%. He turns 28 in a couple days so he ain't young but he isn't old either. Wolfson said he has heard the Wolves are planning to keep Graham past his guarantee date but Napier could be moved in a deal.
Meh. There are reasons he's been traded multiple times and signed his last contract for about $1.9M per year.
He's basically another version of Jerryd Bayless.
Agreed, nothing special there. There is a reason they are called highlights. They sure as heck don't show the 67% of 3's he missed!
Just to be clear I want him as a depth guy 3rd behind a better backup PG and available to play minutes as a combo guard. He has now played rotation minutes for 2 different teams that went to the playoffs. He might actually not suck as a defensive player. Lets be honest if he is averagish...for his salary that would be pretty solid. The highlights...show some legit skill not just some dude that catch and shoot 3's. Does nobody remember how well he played for Portland a little over a year ago? I simply like the guy as a depth piece I don't want to just give him away.

I wonder what tyus is asking for because money is drying up.
That's a good spot for Mudiay and a nice get for the Jazz. Now with Mudiay and Exum (if healthy) they have 2 shots at a young worthwhile guard. They let go of Neto who I like if he is cheap.
Just settling for the qualifying offer and go into next year as an unrestricted FA seems like a real possibility for Tyus. Wolfson has reported the Wolves have looked at various backup PGs. I also wonder if some of that is finding out what the market is for Tyus to make him a legit long term offer.

Tyus might even prefer taking that qualifying offer because there is nothing in the free agent market next off season. And teams cant help themselves from spending.

Darn. There goes another one of my guys. I'm OK not signing Mudiay if we keep Teague and re-sign Tyus. Otherwise, Mudiay is another one of those guys with major upside who could pan out in a big way. Tyus is a better PG than Mudiay right now, but signing Mudiay would be an upside play.
I spent some time digging around on the Nets guys we got. It may have led to some interesting stuff.
It seems there is a chance Napier is a guy that does some positive things defensively despite being a smaller guy. If as a backup he isn't a liability I'd say that makes him a positive player. There was a couple game stories where Atkinson really praises his defense. He is pesky.
Shabazz Napier's +0.9 Defensive Player Impact Plus/Minus ranked 8th among all point guards, equal with Patrick Beverley and above guys like Ricky Rubio, Ben Simmons and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Pretty pesky despite being undersized."
Ok so I'm not buying this tweet as fact but I was curious where the info came from. I think it was from this website which I hadn't ever seen till the last week or so. Has anyone else poked around on it? They have some of their own advanced metrics. I haven't looked to close into them yet.

Teveon Graham has a tough year after having some nice preseason hype...yeah in know but anyway. He started 21 games and part of why was supposedly his tough defense. First it was a hamstring early that kept him out 2 months and he also had back issue and shoulder issue. He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn in his minutes in the playoffs.
What's encouraging? Both guys increased their volume of 3 point shots but their percentages dropped. Graham almost doubled how many he took per 36 mins.
Are these guys any good? Maybe they aren't. Is it possible we got a couple worthwhile rotation players on at least a .500 level team? Yes. They basically don't cost us anything and we got cash to take them. If one of the 2 guys turns out to be averagish it's a win. As Wolves fans we are used to most of these guys to suck. We need to actually raise the value of some of these types of guys. That's POSSIBLE with these 2 players. Probable? No but the risks obviously aren't high.
I'd really only want a couple 30 something vets for locker room leadership. I would resign Deng and then try to sign one of the following cheaply: Patrick Lin, Dante Cunningham, Sefolosha, Bogut or Vince Carter
