Knicks keep inching up the standings, will anyone in the national media say they misjudged this team when they picked them to finish bottom of the east? Phil must be a real asshole, because there seems to be such a move against the guy and his system amongst the national media. But the truth is he has made good, methodical steps for his team.

Phil shouldn't have made the Derrick Rose trade, but other than that one move, it's hard to quibble with the job he's done there. From roster construction to the new head coaching hire. Things have clicked for them.

I agree it wasn't a great deal, but he's a big market thinker. Basically moving constantly to leverage for more big names. And for now Rose is contributing to wins. They're an easy team for me to root for, and I find that super hard to admit with Melo on the roster.

I don't get why it's a surprise the Knicks are kinda good. It's a talented roster the question was if it was going to be a basketball team or a MASH unit. So far they have weathered some injuries and some signings people don't talk about that Phil made to fill out the roster look pretty good.

Also it's the east...it's pretty much the Cavs some other good teams...then some other teams.

I'm not surprised, but a lot of the analytic heavy national media guys were projecting them at the bottom of the west. That is more what I was speaking to.

I guess I didn't see that.
I didn't see anybody pick them at the bottom of the East... not when Brooklyn and Philly are there. I saw almost everybody picking them in that mad scramble of teams in the 35 - 43 win scrum.

For example, ESPN picked the Knicks to win 40 games. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/17131133/2016-summer-forecast-east-standings

No one picked them at the very bottom. But Mannix, Woj, and 5 or 6 guys at ESPN (haberstroh, etc) were going on about how horrible (non-playoff team in the east) they were going to be in their season preview podcasts and reports.I could dig them up if this is really important to you.

Another good night for the eastern conference against the western conference. The Bucks beating Portland is probably the biggest win of all of them if you still have hope for the Wolves making the playoffs.

Durant: 5 - 17 fg
Curry: 7 - 16 fg
Team: 7 - 30 on three pointers (23%)

And the Warriors still win easily in basically a rout vs. a top 4 team in the league.
