Trade market and trade hype thread
Re: Trade market and trade hype thread
Wilson Chandler reportedly wants out of Denver.

I wonder if Rubio, Bazz, Hill or Payne and our pick or a pick swap this year would be enough to net Nelson, Chandler, and Faried from the Nuggets?
Nelson / Dunn / Tyus
Wiggins / LaVine
Chandler / Wiggins
Faried / Towns
Towns / Dieng
Rubio / Mudiay
Murray / Barton
Gallinari / Bazz
Hernangomez / Arthur
Jokic / Nurkic

Mikkeman wrote:Bleed, whom you would have drafted instead of Dunn? It seems that most of players in last draft have been pretty bad. Jamal Murray and Buddy Hield are shooting below 40% even though shooting was supposed to be their strength. Like Monster wrote in some thread, 2nd round draft choice Malcolm Brogdon has been the most impressive and productive rookie so far with 9.3pts and 4 assists averages in 25 minutes.
This draft class looks pretty similar than 2013 year looked after rookie season. From top prospects only Oladipo and Carter-Williams impressed but they played in really bad Orlando and Philly teams. Now three years later it looks like there was quite many really good players. Greek Freak, Gobert, McCollum, Otto Porter and Schroder all look now better than either Oladipo or Carter-Williams. I think that quite many players of 2016 draft class will in the end turn quite fine even tough their rookie seasons weren't that good and I haven't yet lost faith that Dunn couldn't be among that group.
Personally, I'd like for them to have traded the pick. Felt the same about the Derrick Williams pick.
The draft spot has a lot more value than the player chosen in that spot... especially after an uneven 1/2 year... or 3 years in the league.

Re: Trade market and trade hype thread
Just listened to Jared Dudley on a podcast. What about chasing him?
- He's a veteran (31) and is actively seeking places where he can be a "leader" for young guys.
- 2 years, $20M on his deal.
- You know EXACTLY what you're getting -- 8 ppg / 4 reb / 46% fg / 40% 3pt... in 20 - 24 mpg.
- Can play the 3 or even small-ball 4
- Might be receptive. He asked out of Milwaukee when he saw his time was up. (Said he loved playing there though and even requested the Giannis move into the starting lineup over him.) He's getting DNPs in Phoenix despite being on a terrible team. With Chriss and Bender getting more and more run... I can't see him staying there for the entire contract.
- He's not super tough. And he's not going to take over a game with 25 points. But he has seen a few NBA locker rooms. He's seen a few successful NBA locker rooms. And (at least publicly) really really pushes a team camaraderie vibe.
- Oh. And he knows how important to play with a good passing PG. He LOVED Steve Nash and said he owes Wall a Rolex for helping him land this deal. Also played with Paul. IF Rubio stays...
[Note: I don't think he'd take much. After all, Phoenix isn't going to want to pay him $10M for DNPs.]

He would be the perfect replacement for belly also.

Re: Trade market and trade hype thread
Depends on what happens with Shabazz. If his 3-ball is the real deal, we may be more likely to match an offer for him. But if we lose Shabazz, Dudley would certainly be a guy to look at.
Re: Trade market and trade hype thread
I like Dudley but I wouldn't give up anything to acquire him and have to pay him 10 million in a year even with salaries rising.

Per Woj

Orlando has agreed to trade Serge Ibaka to Toronto for Terrence Ross and a 2017 first-round pick, league sources tell @TheVertical.
Honestly that's pretty decent deal for Ibaka. The pick is the Clippers pick but they get a 1st back it may not be as high as the one they gave up last draft but it's supposed Robbie a good draft. Ross isn't a great player but a nice young bench wing signed for the another 2 years at around 10 million per has its own value.
I would assume this opens up a few more minutes for Powell and puts Carrol playing more SF.

Ooops, posted this in the wrong thread... belongs here...
Toronto is making its move with Kevin Love on the sidelines for the next 6 weeks...
Let's recap what Hennigan has done for the Magic...
Oladipo + Harris + Ibaka + Ilyasova + 11th pick ...... for ....... Terrence Ross + 2(x)th pick
[Note: As a bonus, the Magic picked up Biyombo and Jeff Green this offseason... and are paying them $32M this season.]

The Cavs are totally set they just signed a guy with experience filling in for Kevin Love for an extended chunk of games...Derrick Williams.
Great breakdown of those Orlando deals. I do think the return they got back for Ibaka wasn't terrible especially considering the financials but it's not inspiring either. The good news is Aaron Gordon can probably go back to playing PF although I think he might be able to play SF but the way the game is played right now it may not make sense. Having a guy like him able to play PF defensively could be a terrific asset.

Yep. The entire Ibaka/Biyombo thing was made even more puzzling because it moved their most promising youngster out of position.
Hennigan = Kahn?
