We seem to have a supporting cast problem. Most of the Lakers series and tonight, DDV, NAW, and Conley have really struggled to get buckets. Naz is 50/50 and Julius just paid homage to his November self. Add to that a 1 point Ant half and it is certainly troubling.
The Wolves strung together some really good defensive sequences. Average offense would have made it a relatively easy win.
So the question is, is it the Wolves shooting luck or will the Warriors just shut them down going forward? Again, troubling.
Good defense ends with a fucking rebound. How many offensive rebounds did GSW get? It was pathetic. We also didn't punish them by having several players on the offensive glass by running on them. You have to play in transition and get easy buckets when teams have 3 guys sitting down rebounding.
The shooting was terrible, but not rebounding is inexcusible.

Finch on Ant: "You're the leader of the team, you have to come out and set the tone".
Thank you coach, needed to be said.
I may need a new TV if Ant and Randle come out in game 2 testing their 3-ball.

True, but often times it's the stars that make the supporting cast look good. Ant and Julius didn't have it tonight and there were times where Ant just sort of gave up on plays. The other guys aren't good enough to absorb the usage and efficiency Ant usually brings to the party. The loss falls squarely on him and Randle IMO.
For sure they are to blame but we have a nice sample size of these guys getting set up and building pyramids brick by brick even when Ant and Ju are cooking. Donte is at least making defensive plays. NAW has been a ghost. We probably can stop worrying about his free agency.

Again this is true but I'm not talking about one game. The title of this thread is about trends. This shooting has been a problem for awhile now.

Just as I thought, GSW had 18 offensive rebounds, we had 12 offensive despite missing every 3 in the first 3 and a half quarters!
You can't just hand them 6 extra possessions in the difference, besides the 18 you gave up on that end. That lost the game. In fact you should argue that the Wolves should easily outrebound them every game with the size advantage. Lost the rebounding battle by 10.

You win this game if the team rebounds well. Gave up 18 boards to them on offense.

Yes and the shooting is still a trend that is a problem.

Ant disagreed with Finch. Apparently he thought his energy he brought tonight was fine. Not exactly what you want to hear after this performance

Jeepers. He did several inexcusable things in that game, including complaining while the play was going the other way. Missing a half dozen layups too.
