Drummond 2 year 6.6 mil deal seams like a steal to me. 12 pts and 10 rebs in 22 minutes for Brooklyn is very productive. Plus he's an elite offensive rebounder.

It's kinda wild he turns 29 in August. The NBA clearly sees him as a backup. If the Wolves saw him as a viable starter next to Towns it seems like they could have easily signed him. My theory continues to be that he isn't a very good defender despite some nice stats. I'm not suggesting he is as bad as Kanter was/is but I think he is closer to that than what say a guy like McGee provides. Still Drummond with his ability to produce while also having SOME offensive game beyond just being at the rim likely has more value than what contract he is getting. I would not have been far from unhappy with adding him to the Wolves roster.

I agree, Pork. The Wolves could have out-bid the Bulls and signed him for $4M per year using their BAE. Not signing him is a strike against the Connelly regime in my view.

Drummond continues to be jettisoned from team to team while his value continues to plummet. This will be his 6th team in 3 years. So there's something there that's NOT working.

The rub is whether the Wolves' Kessler will ever become as good as the fallen-from-grace Drummond is right now.

It is odd indeed. The dude is an absolute monster on the glass, solid passer, and efficient scorer. I get that he may not be able to play in crunch time (like a lot of bigs), but to get that kind of production for 2 or 3 mil seems like a great deal. What are we missing?

He has been almost unplayable in the playoffs. He is really really bad at defense. I also believe that he is sort of an odd duck (He was hilarious on Pardon My Take though). Nothing wrong with that but it plays a factor. He can crash the boards but that is really the only thing he does well. For that money it makes sense but he will play like 5 minutes max in a playoff game

The Indiana Pacers are trading guard Malcolm Brogdon to the Boston Celtics, sources tell ESPN.

The Celtics are sending Daniel Theis, Aaron Nesmith and a 2023 first-round pick, sources tell ESPN.

I love that deal for the Celtics. They keep getting better. I'm also glad they haven't stopped adding ball-handlers after acquiring Derrick White at the trade deadline last year.

Edit: I also like that trade for the Pacers as they get a first-round pick and an elite weapon and perimeter shooter in Nik Stauskas.

I also think he has maybe taken a little less money to go where he thinks is a team that will win. The fit in Philly last year behind Embiid was a good one.

That's a hell of a deal for the Celtics. I'm surprised the Pacers were willing to do that deal. I suppose they might be able to flip Theis in another deal which could add value to the overall package. If they are gonna keep trying to win some games Theis won't hurt to have around.
