I didn't hate it, but I think it was a pretty serious mistake in the long view. Perhaps everything will work out for the Kings and I'm wrong, but I think they should have held on to Tyrese Haliburton at almost all costs.

I would have been more comfortable with them trading De'Aaron Fox and a first-round pick for Domantas Sabonis, if that tells you anything. That doesn't mean Indiana would have done that, but that's how highly I value Haliburton.

I'm with you Kek. They got the best player.

Trading Beverly would not surprise me greatly. If we don't think we can sign him, might as well recoup something now. I have no idea if his signing is in doubt, but will be interesting to watch.

I'm with you also, Kek. As much as I like Haliburton's game, I see Sabonis at a different level. It will be interesting to see how he meshes with his new teammates. I didn't watch the replay of last night's game because it was hard to get fired up for it, but tonight should be a better level of play.

Trading Patrick Beverley at this point would signify to me that this franchise is still a bunch of losers up top. It's right up there with trading a first-round pick for cash considerations.

Teams in the playoff hunt typically trade for expiring players like Beverley to help them down the stretch -- not sell them off.

You're all forgetting that Tyrese Haliburton is this good in his second season while still on a rookie scale contract. He has two more years on a great contract in which it's possible he ascends higher than Domantas Sabonis.

Again, it's not a terrible deal, but it was the wrong deal, in my opinion.

Contending teams maybe. We're still building and can't afford to lose assets for nothing. I'm not saying we should trade him, just that it wouldn't surprise me.

Minnesota's flying around on defense early on.

Should Minnesota trade Patrick Beverley for a couple of second-round picks or a young player that won't get any minutes for us? Nope. Keep Beverley. Figure out his contract in the off-season.

By the way, Ant looks more than fine physically.
