Around the league thread
Re: Around the league thread
Looks like Wiseman gets the starting nod at the 5 tonight. I'm super curious to see that. Literally throwing him into the fire against the Nets without having played forever.
He must have shown something to start over Chriss and Looney.

I can't wait to be upset all over again.

I believe it was a heartbeat.

I have him at 7-1 to win ROY so his success is my money success. Also for Cole Anthony at 60-1 (what has now dropped to 27-1)

If Looney was the guy he was a couple years ago then that's one thing but I don't know if he is that guy anymore. Chriss has a nice season for them but was pretty terrible before that and I don't think is a true center. Warriors have started pure centers for years so Wiseman getting the nod falls in line with what they have done...well except a lot of times they don't play young players. It will be interesting to see how Wiseman does.

The Kings beat the Nuggets on a buzzer beating Buddy Hield tip in. Unbelievable

Celtics took the lead on a step-back three pointer from Tatum with 0.4 left... banked in. Still acted the part though. LOL.
Then, Giannis got a SUPER-DUPER SUPERSTAR call on the other end. But missed the 2nd free throw badly. That's his kryptonite. Not the three pointer. Free throws. Obviously, he'll get the calls. He should be shooting 10+ every game. But he's not good shooting them.
Re: Around the league thread
Myles Turner had 8 rebounds and 8 blocks in 29 minutes tonight. Steven Adams had 8 rebounds, 2 blocks and 4 steals. Whiteside had 9 rebounds and 1 block in limited minutes. Julius Randle had 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 17 points. Aaron Gordon had 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
We've all read reports that Rosas looked into trading for Gordon, but it's not clear how serious he was or what might have been on the table. I haven't read anything to suggest that Rosas showed any interest in acquiring Turner, Adams, Whiteside or Randle. Whiteside would have been a cheap free agent signing. The others would have required a trade to get here. I wonder what draft-day deals were possible for any of these guys. Bottom line is that any one of these five players would have been a great addition for the Wolves.

I was big on trading for Turner. The guy is not perfect next to KAT, but he is the main reason Indiana is so great defensively. He is a monster on defense. Whiteside and Randle I would pass on. Gordon I would entertain but not for too much value. Not that we have much anyway.

I'd love to know what it would have taken to acquire Turner in a trade. And I'd love to know what, if anything, we offered for Gordon. If the price for either one had been Johnson, Culver, #17 and #33, would you have done the deal?
We could have signed Whiteside for only a small portion of our MLE. He ended up signing with Portland for $2.3M. Instead we used most of our luxury cap space to sign Juancho for $7M. I'll be we could have gotten Randle from the Knicks for Johnson and #17. But hat would have meant not trading for Ricky.
