Well, today is the deadline for players to renounce their intention to enter the NBA draft. Kris Murray, who I hoped the Wolves would draft in round 2, is going back to college. I think he has a good shot at being a lottery pick next year as he assumes the role that his brother is vacating. One other player that is headed back to school that was projected to go late first or early second is Terquavion Smith. With Murray off the board, the best three and D prospects that might be available between 40 and 50 are Justin Lewis, Christian Braun, Dom Barlow, Dalen Terry, Vince Williams and Julian Champagnie.

Based on what I knew of Murray it seemed like it was probably a reasonably good decision to go back to school. Hopefully he does well.

Yeah, he should get picked a lot higher next year. He is pretty much a clone of his brother, when you extrapolate his stats to a per minute basis. I think he wanted a first round guarantee and didn't get it. If we had a pick in the 25-30 range, I would have probably given him that.

Minnesota local products in David Roddy stayed in the draft and Kerwin Walton has withdrawn his name.

Version 3.0 Second Round Big Board drops Kris Murray out as he is returning to school. I also am dropping Kennedy Chandler and Jalen Williams as they are solidifying themselves as first round picks and I don't think there is much likelihood at all, of taking them at 40. I have also made some adjustments based on further research. I'll drop the player notes I made earlier and only include new notes.
1. Christian Koloko (closest thing to Mark Williams that might fall to 40)
2. Dalen Terry (3 and D guard who can handle the ball, Givony loves him and he is starting to get some first round mention)
3. Dom Barlow (my favorite sleeper pick is starting to get more love, young, athletic, shoots the 3 well and tremendous length)
4. Justin Lewis
5. Christian Braun
6. Andrew Nembhard
7. Vince Williams
8. Ismael Kamagate (stashable)
9. Leonard Miller (stashable)
10. Julian Champagnie
11. David Roddy
13. Josh Minott
14. Yanick Nzosa (stashable)
15. Ryan Rollins
16. Gabriele Procida (stashable)
17. Jabari Walker
18. Orlando Robinson
19. Kofi Cockburn

If you want to watch a big dude throw some nifty passes check out Purdue's Travion Williams. He has an interesting skill set offensively and rebounds well but he is undersized for a center and doesn't move well laterally.

Yes. He's really fun to watch. A virtuoso passer - very rare for a big to do what he does. But he's a pretty bad defender.

Version 3.1 adds Tevin Brown
1. Christian Koloko (closest thing to Mark Williams that might fall to 40)
2. Dalen Terry (3 and D guard who can handle the ball, Givony loves him and he is starting to get some first round mention)
3. Dom Barlow (my favorite sleeper pick is starting to get more love, young, athletic, shoots the 3 well and tremendous length)
4. Justin Lewis
5. Christian Braun
6. Andrew Nembhard
7. Vince Williams
8. Ismael Kamagate (stashable)
9. Leonard Miller (stashable)
10. Julian Champagnie
11. David Roddy
13. Josh Minott
14. Yanick Nzosa (stashable)
15. Ryan Rollins
16. Tevin Brown (6"5 from Murray State, big time 3 point shooter expected to be available at 50, averaged 3.2 threes over four years, with 3.5 his senior year on decent percentages), 1.6 steals, .7 blocks and 3.5 assists on his senior year)
17. Gabriele Procida (stashable)
18. Jabari Walker
19. Orlando Robinson
20. Kofi Cockburn

KG - Glad you added Tevin Brown. he's be a great pick at 48 or 50. I notice that you still have Dalen Terry in your second-round big board. I don't think he'll last past the 1st round. If he's available at #19 I'd be inclined to draft him there assuming Dyson Daniels, Tari Eason and Jalen Williams are off the board. Otherwise, perhaps the Wolves can trade their #19 and 48 to Memphis for their two picks in the 20s. Then perhaps they could end up with Terry and Liddell, Williams or Moore.

Lip, yeah Tevin Brown stood out with his volume of three point shooting and was pretty consistent over four years. I liked that he had some size and showed that he is more than just a three point shooter. Fellow Murray State player, Ja Morant, certainly shows that a player from Murray State can be a good NBA player. This is overall a weak draft for versatile outside shooters compared to past years, so Tevin would be attractive at 48 or 50.
I would be very surprised if Dalen Terry was available at 40. When I set up my big board he was listed at 37 overall on the consensus mock draft rankings with a couple services ranking him after 40. Two of the more credible mocks, ESPN (Givony) and the Athletic (Vecenie), have Terry going in the first round, in the 20s, though the majority of mocks when I last checked still have him as an early second rounder. I have been hearing more buzz of late that Terry will be picked in the first round and there are rumors that he might even get some lottery consideration. The consensus mock draft hasn't been updated in a while and when I get more confirmation that Terry is a near lock to be a first rounder, I will drop him from my big board.
