I really believe Rubio and Wiggins are building blocks. KG, Pek and Martin are placeholders, but that doesn't mean any of them should be traded for peanuts. It's nice for the young up and coming players to play with experienced veterans that can help this franchise compete for once. Fans deserve to see competitive basketball and I think it's possible to maintain competitiveness while developing and building with youth at the same time.
Pek is the best we have at the center position. At his best he can be a starter on a championship contender. We have greater problems than the big guy.
We have to get use to idea of keeping Pek. Considering his contract and injury history he is pretty much unmovable without giving up significant assets.
I think Pek get's more efficient playing next to KG. He needs an shot blocking, stretch four playing next to him and now we have KG, Payne and even Dieng who can fill that role.
Playing next to Thad Young didn't do him any favors.
When you think about it, KG, Dieng and Payne are all pretty good compliments to Pek.
It'll be interesting this offseason what we do with Neal. Assuming Bazz is back and LaVine is worthy of regular minutes, is there room for Neal in the regular rotation as well?
Good question. I think there is a spot for him at the right price. I think a lot of it comes down to who we draft and what his price is. I liked what he did on the court and liked that he was out early working on his shot before the game.
