Guys, bulls will not cinsider trading gibson for martin.

Offense is not a problem for the bulls. Pau and butler are averaging 20 a game. Rose is there and they have shooters in dunleavy and mcdermott. Mirotic is struggling so gibson is valuable to them as noah seems to have lingering injuries.

Even in case Chicago really wants to drop their total salary, it is not reasonable offer since there are many organizations that are willing to offer more from elite defensive big with improving offensive game.

Its possible. I'd be interested to see what kind of offers they get. Taj is almost 30 so it is hard to count on his game improving a whole lot more.

"Cam, Milwaukee isn't going to trade Henson when he is currently their only healthy big. Zaza, Sanders and Ilyasova all are injured and if they would trade Henson for point guard, that would left only Johnny O'Bryant who is rookie 2nd rounder to play center."

Ahh, this is true. I didn't realize, or remember, that Zaza was injured. And as of late, Henson has been getting the bulk of the minutes at center.

* I just checked. Zaza may return as early as Friday. In order to make my proposed trade happen, though, Milwaukee would probably need another big in return. Zaza, O'Bryant and Kenyon Martin isn't enough.

I think Gibson would be the PERFECT fit at PF for this team...but good luck offering a pupu platter to get him. He was the (rumored) centerpiece of a trade for Kevin Love, so I don't see how Bennett/Chase/Martin/Thad/Mo/Randy Moss/Joe Mauer/etc. is going to get a deal done for an athletic PF that can shoot, rebound, and defend. Plus, with the new salary cap on the horizon, he's basically a steal at $8 million per year.

Looks like there is interest in Martin.

If we don't trade Martin and Williams before the trade deadline I hope we at least reduce there minutes so we can play Shabazz and Lavine a good number of minutes.

Young, Williams, and Martin all make for very attractive players on a contending team that needs a boost from its second unit. The problem is making the $ work and making sure we actually get value in return.

Flip should drive a really hard bargain for either Martin or Young. No way do you just trade those guys for an expiring contract or shorter deal. We need other assets (picks, a young guy still on his rookie deal, etc.). Otherwise, we should just keep them and continue to blend them with the youngsters.

So you guys will be able to tell that I'm bored. I made a far fetched hypothetical Trade/Draft/Free agency post. Here would be a great, albeit pretty unrealistic scenario for us:
Deadline Trades:
Kevin Martin to Chicago
For
Taj Gibson

Analysis: The Bulls get a great shooter in Martin. Butler moves to the 3 and Martin slides in to the 2. This eliminates Dunleavy from a starting role. The Bulls have 3 quality PFs. Gibson gives us a quality starting PF. A good all around player and a good team player. He is also locked in to a very team friendly deal.

Nikola Pekovi? to Oklahoma City
For
Kendrick Perkins
Anthony Morrow

Analysis: This deal gives the Thunder a quality starting center. In return we get a three point shooter in Morrow and Perkins expiring contract. We get out of the long Pekovi? contract.

Thaddeus Young
Mo Williams
Second Round Pick to Detroit
For
Greg Monroe

Analysis: Detroit is in the hunt for the 8th playoff spot in the east. With Brandon Jennings hurt they will need help at PG. Greg Monroe's contract expires after the season and isn't likely to be retained by Detroit. They get Young to fill his spot at PF. The second round pick will be a high one. It's a good return for Detroit for a player they probably won't keep. For us we get a quality C. I feel Monroe is better served defensively guarding othe C's instead of the more athletic PFs. Monroe is averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds per 36 mins. He is only 24. The issue will be resigning him. I would open up the check book for him. I believe he is a young ascending post player. If he isn't retained you have dumped Young's salary and will have a bunch of cap room to make some moves.

Draft :
1- D'Angelo Russell G Ohio State

Analysis: Russell leads Ohio State in just about every category. He has outstanding offensive skills as a shooter, passer, ball handler, and drive ability. He shows great flashes on the defensive end. I think a great comparison for him is James Harden. Both lefties who have a ton of offensive skill. Russell and Rubio in the backcourt will get Wiggins, Gibson, and Monroe a ton of great looks. Russell's shooting range also will stretch the defense. If Rubio gets hurt Russell can slide to PG.

Resign:
Greg Monroe
Robbie Hummel
Glenn Robinson III
Lorenzo Brown

Waive:
Chase Budinger

Sign:
Kevin Garnett

Analysis: We resign our greatest player to become a role model and bench big man for his retirement tour.

First Team:
C- Greg Monroe
PF- Taj Gibson
SF- Anthony Wiggins
SG- D'Angelo Russell
PG- Ricky Rubio

Second Team:
C- Gorgui Deng
PF- Kevin Garnett
SF- Shabazz Muhammed
SG- Anthony Morrow
PG- Zach LaVine

Remaining Five:
Anthony Bennett
Lorenzo Brown
Robbie Hummel
Glen Robinson III
Troy Daniels

Roster Analysis:
Four of our starting five will be 25 years old, or younger. Let those four grow together. Shabazz Muhammed would be the 6th man, a role I think he would be great in. Russell would move to point if Rubio got hurt. PG depth isn't the best. This is a good young roster.

I like all of your trades, but I believe Chicago will need more in return for Taj. Maybe if we can get a protected first from OKC we could use that along with Martin to pry him away. They may want a Big back as well considering Noah has been struggling with a knee injury.

Possible Detroit Trades:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=njtq4e3

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=pswv8h9

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=onnt7sg
(we'd likely have to trade a couple 2nds in this one)

Possible Chicago Trade:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=njh2nyy
(We'd have to send a future protected 1st or multiple 2nds as well.)

Possible OKC Trade:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=opedweg
OKC also sends us a future protected first.
Though I'd love to do this trade, I'm beginning to doubt OKC pulls a trigger on this. I think they'd just as well finish this year out and let Perkins come off the books. Adams will be a fine center for them going forward.

Possible Laker Trade:
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=q3cccba
We'd have to send a future 1st as well.
This one may be a bit too far-fetched?

Would you guys pull the trigger on any of these trades? If so, which ones and why?
Are any of these not so far-fetched?

The most realistic is likely the first Detroit trade, and I'd send a second rounder just to get it done. Anything to move bud.

At least most seem to agree that our likely trade partners are Detroit, OKC, and Chicago.
