I've already said what I think are Young's strengths and weaknesses on here many times, and I still believe he's a good power forward in the NBA. There's no reason why need to have this argument again because I doubt any of you will change your "Thad is garbage" mentality, and I'm not changing my mind either.
I have a different question, though. How do you think David West/Taj Gibson/Ryan Anderson would look playing with Zach LaVine, Andrew Wiggins, Chase Budinger and Gorgui Dieng?

I think all 3 of them are an fairly big upgrade over Thad.

I think the difference is that those other guys have specific skills that stand out regardless of surrounding personel. I am actually a fan of Young, and think he is a better player than we have seen, but also have seen enough now to know that he is just to poor as a defender and rebounder to be a starter in the NBA. He just simply doesn't have an above-average skill to speak of. He is adequate....that is not worth $10M.
I like Young as a backup big, but a team like the Wolves can't tie up a huge amount of money in backups considering we don't have a legit starter yet.
Wiggins is a good shooter, so Thad has been playing with one at least. I don't think Thad is "garbage", but I don't see him fitting with this team in any way due to his salary. If he was on a MLE for the next couple years then I could maybe see him being some bench offense. We need a PF that fits well with Dieng & Pek. A guy who can rebound, block shots, play decent D and maybe hit some 15-18 footers.

Wiggins is a decent shooter, but not one that is going to demand attention on the perimeter.
As for what you want in a PF, yeah, get in line. 28 teams in the NBA are looking for that. Young doesn't have to be prototypical to have a positive impact.

Wiggins' shooting has been trending up and his shot has looked good from the start. D's will have to respect him and that's the key.
I didn't say they needed to be great or even good at rebounding, shock blocking and defense. Mainly someone who is decent in those areas. Just not someone who is below average in all 3.
Im on the fence with the rumored scenario. Il do thad for perkins only if we have another deal in place to send perkins to another team for another player.
I just dont think perkins will want to stay on our team and if we have pek coming back soon then there is no room for perkins in the rotation.
One thing i saw flip did last night was a lineup of thad ab and dieng together. I actaully Want to see thad get a run at sf. A starting five of thad-ab-dieng-mo-wiggins is one i hope flip tries vs denver tonight. Let ab try to keep faried off the boards. Thad replaces the injured shabazz role in the starting lineup for now and wiggins can matchup with the opposing sg with a bugger thad at sf. Flip should at least try this scenaraio.
