I just think it's topic that's really silly. "Silly" being the nice way of putting it.

I am also exactly Dwill's age... But I know I would handle things differently and cater to the majority of the people following me.

Camden, you may think this is a "silly" topic, however, I do think though its a nice chance of pace from the redundant roster discussions that just seem to go full circle on here lately.

If you spend the time to look at both Rubio, and Dwill you can see the difference between what each say. Obviously the stuff Dwill says doesn't cause outrage or national media attention. I think the cause for concern, if there should be one, is this coupled with the way Dwill has underperformed due to our expectations and being the #2 pick. On the other hand I don't think Rubio's performance and love for the game has been questioned.

I was being sarcastic about Rubio. Obviously he doesn't have any Twitter issues. Neither does D-Will and that was the point I was getting at. This is only D-Will's third season. Are we supposed to believe that what he tweets has affected his play the first two years? C'mon man.

His tweets do not affect his play... But I think they do hold some reflection of the performance we have seen thus far from him as a wolf.

One thing I don't want Derrick to do is settle, he could be the guys that puts us to the next level.

I'm not worried about Derrick Williams' tweets. It's not a big deal. He can use Twitter for whatever he wants. If you think he's detached from Minnesota, if that were true, I couldn't blame him. The team has done everything in their power to make sure Derrick plays as little as possible even if he did improve. I still feel like the best Derrick Williams will offer to a team will be in the future and with someone else.

I know he was close with Malcolm Lee and he's now gone and he does have on the court chemistry with Rubio, but how he handles himself online doesn't affect that at all. Nobody overvalues chemistry and character more than this organization. As long as we're winning, the little things that could bother them, won't. If they're losing, everyone will hate everything.

Interesting way to put it WildWolf, I have never really thought of it in that respect. It does make sense for him to be detached because I'm sure he feels he can't win for losing right now with the wolves. So what does he do? Goes back to where he is most comfortable and accepted, Arizona and his college buddies. I sure anyone of us would do the same.

Derrick's really nice guy if you get a chance to meet him. He's humble and will give you chance to start a conversation and chat for a bit. I would imagine there's a lot more athletes that won't even give you a smile let alone let you have a chance to speak with them.

BTW, if the Wolves don't play the next day or so, a handful of players head off to Seven for dinner (after that night's game). Catch them before they sit down. He's always been cool with me.

On the Twitter note. We all have to remind ourselves that he's just a 22 year old kid with an earned salary of about 10M for the last 2 years combine. How many of us even have just one of them? And we're how old? That's the reality of this all, these players are so young and given so much money that you have to give them some slack. That said, I think he's smart enough to not waste all of his money and KNOWS that basketball will pay for everything...which would mean that he will work on his game.

I think it's a bit ridiculous to expect them to stop living their lives and change their twitter to be all about sports and the fans. Would it be nice if they interacted with fans here and there? Sure, but it is what it is.

Williams is a good guy and no one should expect him to stop loving his life. But if he wants to play up to his considerable potential, which wold make him an excellent NBa player, he'll have to show a passion for the game he hasn't shown yet. All the great NBA players through the years have had a deep passion for the game and an incredibly intense competitive drive. Some have been nice guys, others not so nice. Some loved to party (Barkley), others did not (David Robinson).

I'm told by people who know that Williams is a great guy who is well liked by teammates and coaches. But I'm also told that the coaching staff continues to wonder whether Williams has far more passion for the NBA lifestyle than the NBA game. I suspect we'll find out this coming season. The talent is there. The only question is whether Derrick has the passion and competitiveness to turn that talent into the sort of production expected of him when he was the consensus #2 pick in the 2011 draft.
