I would be surprised, but if it happens, it's because the team that trades for him recognizes his defense has made him a positive on/off plus player every year of his career except one...best on Orlando this season for players with more than 700 minutes. I still hold the line at the rumored deal of Rubio, protected pick + filler, but I'm not going higher. Gordon would immediately become our starting PF and that would be an upgrade, but I might prefer to see what McDaniels could do with 30 minutes a game (I recognize Finch is playing him more at SF, but I think he has a future at PF).

I go back and forth on the Beverly deal. Yes, he's a great defender...maybe the best defensive PG in the game...but he's hurt, getting older, and averages 53 games a year. I liked the deal better when I thought Beverly was an expiring, but with another year left on his contract, my vote would be no.

If those rumored offers for Gordon are true, just imagine what the Hawks are expecting for Collins? I suspect they are waiting for the Gordon domino to fall, and then will only pull the trigger if the return is sizably higher than Gordon's.

FNG - My thinking on the possible Rubio deal with the Clippers is that Beverley's main value would be salary savings - about $3.5M less than Rubio's. His physical issues are why the Clippers are probably willing to deal him for Rubio.

Yeah, I think you're right, Lip. I go back and forth on this deal because of Beverly's health. I see him as the Clippers' third best player behind their 2 stars, and I think there's no way they offer him for Rubio if they thought he could stay healthy. But when he's healthy, he's one of my favorite PGs. I guess I'd be happy with the deal.

Edit: I'm not so sure how knee-jerk my reaction is today based on last night's game. I gave Rubio a lot of credit for the Wolves playing their best ball of the season prior to this disastrous homestand, but I also give him a fair share of the blame for last night's debacle. My opinion on this deal is fragile. If it doesn't happen and Rubio bounces back from last night, I may go back and edit out all my posts and deny that I ever favored a trade for Beverly 8) .

The only move this team should make is declining Culver's 4th year option months in advance if they can.

Besides that there's nothing to move, so unless y'all wanna trade KAT now just to discuss transactions forever, there's nothing there.

I'm just glad they didn't do anything stupid. Getting Gordon would have been nice, but not at the price they got for him. I'm also glad they didn't ship out Rubio as it's become clear he's having an impact on Edwards. The rest of this season should be about seeing what the trio of KAT, DLo, and Edwards can dotogether as well as Beasley, McDaniels and others. Wait for the draft and then make moves at that time IMO.

I suspected there wasn't much desire for our assets beyond KAT or Edwards. We likely would have lost any other trade based on the trajectory of our players.

I'm not disappointed the team didn't make any moves. I didn't see anything out there that made me upset they didn't get in on it. This team hasn't had the whole roster available to play together for more than a couple games. If everyone is healthy it will be like they made some moves. Lol

Like other have said it's good they didn't do something dumb. Another thing to consider is hearing them in rumors for some guys like Gordon considering it's a competitive sphere if you are truest interested ina. Guy it makes sense to call and state your intentions because that raises the demand for that player and who knows maybe something changes and the price is lowered and you have a legit shot.

I wonder if anyone will be let go with various moves around the league that would make sense to add to the team with an open roster spot.
