Rubio being a smart defender has been confused with Rubio being a good defender for many years now. Intelligent plays on the court can only get you so far when you cant move laterally and refuse to put on enough muscle to fight through a screen. His timely steals and quick hands are fun to watch, his diving not as much. We're not talking about switching Gary Payton for DLo.

Uh. This is kind of a no-brainer. DLO and Beasley undoubtedly fit in as top 5 players on this team. Where they fit in (I've always viewed Beasley as an ideal high scoring 6th man...and that's the size of his contract). Where they fit is dependant on Finch figuring out how to maximize efficiency.

With a good head coach, and I think we now have one, the Wolves should be better with the return of Beasley and DLO. However, I share Cool's concern about DLO. The ball has been moving well with DLO out. And as Ant is beginning to become a force, he and KAT will both need lots of touches. DLO stalls the ball and slows the offense. He jacks up shots. When he's hot, he helps the team offensively. When he's not, he hurts the team's offense. And he almost never helps the team's defense. Having said all that, DLO's talented and we haven't had the chance to see him playing much next to KAT or at all under a real NBA head coach. So I remain hopeful.

If JO can continue solid play on defense I'd bring in Beas off the bench. Go with DLO, ANT, KAT, JO and McDaniels.

Then off the bench we got Rick, Beas, Nowell, Vandy and Naz. Did I miss anyone? Juancho and Layman may get spot minutes if any player seems to be off.

I think that would provide a nice balance of shots to go around and defense in both lineups.

Can easily give Beas more minutes if Ant is struggling too and so on like on nights like tonight. More options will certainly hopefully lead to more wins.

Any thought to keeping Ricky as the starting 1?

I could see Chris Finch being intrigued with the idea of starting D'Angelo Russell and Ricky Rubio together even though we've seen that fail tremendously this season. Maybe his system can make them operate cohesively. But it's more likely that Rubio slides back to the bench to make room for Russell and Malik Beasley.

Do we really know what we have with DLO when he never plays with Kat and Ant at the same time? How many minutes have they all shared on the court?

We haven't seen enough of D-Lo with KAT to know anything, despite what others may say, and they've played a whopping 90 minutes together this season. D-Lo's played 297 minutes with Ant though it seems like there's two different versions of the rookie this season. Basically, we definitely need to see more of these three together.

Edit: Russell, Edwards, and Towns have played 21 minutes together over four games. In that extremely small and insignificant sample size they have a 127.7 ORtg and 111.4 DRtg.

According to cleaningtheglass.com what eliminates garbage time and end of the quarter heaves.

They have all 3 played for 43 possessions together. And outscoring their opponents by 32.6 pts per 100 possessions would be in the 100th percentile. Once again extremely small sample size

The best lineup has been in terms of both minutes played and net rating:

.R. Rubio, .K. Towns, .M. Beasley, .J. Vanderbilt, .A. Edwards (Net Rating +10.5 spanning 111 minutes)
