That's where I'm at also, except that I don't have my eye on Ryan. I have no realistic hope for him as our head coach. I like the talent of Culver and Edwards. I'd like to see Culver take a huge leap forward as talented players often do in their second NBA season. His talent, high IQ and work ethic give me hope that a huge leap forward for Culver is realistic. What we saw from him in preseason feeds my sense of hope for him. As a rookie, I don't expect Edwards to be a net positive contributor to the team's won-loss record. But my realistic hope is that he plays himself into contention for rookie of the year. That would mean he's probably not a significant drag on the team this season and it would give the franchise a positive vibe going forward.
Unfortunately, I don't expect much more than we've seen in years past from KAT or DLO. That's fine for KAT. As is, KAT is a dominant scorer and rebounder. And his scoring is uniquely versatile, which makes him an extraordinarily effective offensive weapon if used well by the coaching staff. But if DLO doesn't improve significantly, that will be a problem. He has to be better than he's ever been for this team to compete for a playoff spot - unless Culver suddenly emerges as the second-coming of Brandon Roy on the offensive end this season.
