I can't speak to Garland (I understand he's the #2 PG in the class), but if we somehow walk away from the draft with Ja Morant, this team's future gets a lot brighter again.

Considering how much many on this forum loved Courtney Lee for many years... it's not a surprise that Okogie is a favorite.

Oh Abe. There you go again. :). I liked Courtney Lee coming out of college, but not nearly as much as I like Okogie. Lee was a decent player, but didn't have Okogie's upside -- the freakish length combined with elite athleticism, the relentless motor and defensive instincts.

Okogie is a work in progress with high upside and a decent floor as a high-energy defender. Seriously, no one is anointing him all-star status. But it's important to acknowledge that he's a 20 year old just finishing his rookie season playing on a pretty bad team with little continuity. And his improvement this past month is clearly reflected in his stats. So we'll just have to see how he develops. For now, he's a nice contrast to a guy named Wiggins who isn't progressing and whose motor turns off and on while typically running at half speed -- all for the bargain price of $25+ million each year.
