I think I will just put the man's words up:

"But I don't do business with snakes. I don't do business with snake motherf---ers. I try not to do business with openly snakes or people who are snake-like."

There is no justification for that.

Taylor is a snake, you can call it business but I would say he is the likely worst owner in the NBA at the moment.

[Note: That's a terrible post by me, right? Yours was awful, too. You were called out for taking Malone's "character" over Garnett and I provided facts to support it. Then, you double down with some dismissive comment about us not being objective? Lame.]

I had never heard that about Malone. If true it's obviously a despicable thing. How did he not go to jail?

As far as my comments being lame, that seems to be a familiar theme with you toward me. I'd wager you dog me 80-90% of the time when I make a strong opinion-based post. Perhaps you don't like my style, or maybe you just don't like ME. Whatever it is, it's simply impossible for two people to have polar opposite views on everything. I mean don't we have to occasionally be aligned simply by accident? You must gain something in these exchanges, I won't speculate on what that might be.

Anyway, yes it's not often rabid fans can look at their own objectively. For a long time I had trouble doing so with Andrew Wiggins. Before him I was a huge supporter of the Wild's Pierre-Marc Bouchard when a large segment of the fan base soured on him. But by and large I'm a pretty good judge of character. I don't hero worship, I don't dress up in a team jersey when I go to a game, and when my team stinks I can admit it. I root for name on the front of the jersey. For a long time I was a big KG supporter. But it was HIM that soured me, not something I did or concocted about him. The names on the backs of the jerseys change year by year. If the Wolves somehow win a championship one day, to me it will be the Twin Cities that wins. Not Towns, Russell, or some other place-holder in the jersey. I'm grateful for that perspective.

I just found it to be hypocritical. I think you're an opinionated blowhard (WHICH IS FINE)... we all are.

It's when you are... but then claim somebody who consistently uses facts vs. your conjecture is the one who is incapable of being objective.

I literally just gave you reasons (https://www.espn.com/espn/page2/story?page=hill/080507Karl Malone with that 12 year old and his son) and you dismiss it in an opinionated blowhard sort of way. Educate yourself with facts and evidence and your opinions would hold more weight than your take in this thread: "You guys are unwilling to side with me because you're not being honest."

That's super lame.

________

1. I like having you on the board. Nobody is perfect. Not even me.
2. Garnett was an asshole. But if we're calling out his character and championing Malone's character... find out more about the guy we're championing.
3. We have very very different posting styles. You're probably a bit more emotional. I'm probably a bit more pragmatic to a fault. In fact, I take precautions in nearly every post to try to back up my take or stay away from hyperbole (sans Rashad McCants). Neither style is wrong. Every once in awhile the contrasting styles clash... especially when I'm still labeled as not capable of being objective.

I think there is a justification if Glen was acting like a snake. Glen's got McHale suing him and Garnett saying this publicly. Taylor's perception via his former associates is worse than anyone in the NBA (including Dolan) at present. For the purpose of classiness and general decorum I think you're right Cool, NBA players shouldn't be presenting themselves this way in the public forum. But for whatever reason Taylor's behavior is causing his former associates to act this way. If it was Garnett in isolation I think it would be easier to write it off as another emotional outburst. But this in the midst of the McHale lawsuit is really troubling.

I like havigf both of you on the board. As a reader of the posts on this thread I would point out that Cool making his stand on KG that Abe responded to saying he dug pedifiles or whatever i read as still saying he stuck to his opinion of KG it wasn't responding to anything that did or didn't happen with Malone. Cool didn't seem to be ignoring any information just taking his stand. It was maybe still a bit of an over the top type thing but that's how I saw it.

It's kinda funny in a way Cool saying he is looking at the team not the name on the jersey which is sort of emotionally distant in some ways. Meanwhile he has fully admitted in the past he comes here to vent and sometimes gets carried away. All of us do that to some extent...obviously...we are Wolves fans. Even Tim loses it one every year and a half. :)

Meanwhile Abe is this pragmatic but sort of spitefully jabbing the knife into the past of organizations or players. I see most of that as reality based humor which most of the time I get a kick out of. Meanwhile you can tell Abe is also dying to actually REALLY dig a player whether it's the Wolves or even around the league. He dislikes it's just analytics driving things.

We are all in this together posting here but nobody is gonna have the same perspective which is good or...it would be pretty boring and we wouldn't learn anything. That Karl Malone thing...yeeesh.

Personally...KG can do whatever I don't really care all that much at this point. I'd hope some day there is a moment when he becomes a Wolf again and everyone can have their moment. I don't see that happening for a while so I've just simply moved on.

I don't put much stock into jersey retirements... but I guess we should notice that the only two for the Wolves are because the guys died unexpectedly.

Charlotte is the same (Bobby Phills). And Orlando... has nobody... sans #6 in some lame marketing gimmick representing the fans. I assume they'll eventually get around to Dwight Howard and maybe Jameer Nelson.

Like you, I won't lose much sleep, or waking moments, wondering about Garnett's jersey going to the rafters.

I could care less if they retire KG's jersey. What I do care about is that arguably the two greatest basketball players associated with Minnesota (KG and McHale) seem to hate our owner and are carrying out either formal or informal campaigns against him. It's bad for business and our team's prospects (not that realistically we have any).

It does suck. Meanwhile Lindsay Whalen and Glenn get along right? :)

There are zero stakes in the WNBA relative to the NBA, but I'm sure if it became reality that WNBA players needed to be paid at parity with NBA players Glen would be leading the charge of the poor owners against it.

You clearly take this more seriously than i do. Part of me would like to tear your post above to shreds, and get into the juvenile back and forth that it leads to. But not this time. Have a great day Abe.
