Meanwhile, Culver and Okogie were decent shooters in school and only get worse and worse in the NBA.

This is a pattern that seemingly repeats itself over and over again with this franchise when it comes to its perimeter draft picks - Corey Brewer, Ricky Rubio, Andrew Wiggins, Tyus Jones, Okogie, Culver, etc.Guys that showed some potential in lower level leagues (NCAA or Europe in Rubio's case) that they could develop into at least average shooters and then it just never ever happens. Is it a curse? Bad luck? Bad scouting up front?

The Wolves also had some key hits too. Love and KAT (but then their defense is lacking of course.)

Certainly more misses and too many especially guards and wings. These new guys coming in now do look like they will change that trend however.

Culver has been bad this season but I wouldn't put him on the list of busted Wolves shooters yet. It's unlikely but he could become a better then avg shooter. If he is working on mechanics and lacks confidence, it's going to go bad like this season. If he turns it around and gains confidence, you really never know. He could be shooting 38% 3P in a couple seasons too.

Okogie is older and hasn't had any progression so I think it's very unlikely he ever becomes a good shooter.

To be fair... Culver is actually starting from the lowest point though.
He still is below .500 on free throws.

Wolves recall Martin and Evans from Iowa not Vanderbilt or Spellman

It's a take a step back to hopefully take a step or two forward down the road. While you are changing mechanics, you are going to struggle to either, thinking about those mechanics (especially on FT) and or struggle with reverting back and forth between new and old mechanics which messes up obviously your consistency and confidence.

This is what I see with Culver. I'm not ready to pin him down as a poor shooter for his career yet, although I think most here would. I'll go out on a limb and say he shoots 34% from 3P next year and 72% from the line. He'll get it figured out. Year after 36% and 78% from FT.

Most guys wait until the offseason to overhaul their shot and work on mechanics... so it's gonna get worse than it will get better next year?

How can a guard shoot worse than 46.5% from line... with multiple free throws hitting the backboard before the ball hits the rim?

This isn't a pro-Thibs post... but maybe an anti-convenient narrative post:

Thibodeau was known for beating his players into the ground. "Too many minutes!"

- Thibs coached the Wolves for 204 games. Towns played in all 204 games. Wiggins played in 200 of them.
- Saunders has coached the Wolves for 95 games. Towns has missed 23 of them. Wiggins missed 12 of them, including four for a funeral.

I think this is more of a general statement about the organization than the coaches... and a lot of it is probably coincidental... but I found it worthy of being noted...

[Note: Obviously, Towns is going to miss several more games... ]

Thibs effect ground those guys up that's why they are missing all these games...

Tatum becoming a good 3 point shooter shouldn't be that big of a surprise as he shot nearly 85% at the FT line as a freshman and shot 34% from 3 despite coming off an early injury. The draft express guys said Brown was going to be good and they got that one right. His 3 point shooting based on his college resume is certainly more of a surprise worth noting.

Again it's worth bringing up Dieng who was a much better shooter than anyone would have guessed even if you are just saying long 2'a much less becoming a legit 3 point shooter. Some of the Wolves failings is...taking guys who weren't shooters to begin with. Meanwhile how many guys in the past 10 years have been on the roster for 3 full seasons?

I have a torn meniscus (degenerative) from overuse. Too much golf. Too much working out. There is something to be said about load management I think.

I think many injuries occur because the muscles or tendons have already have been put through a lot of stress, they are fatigued and need time to heal, so they are in a condition that injury is more likely. I'm stuck myself with a fucked up knee and need to be careful how hard I push it rehabbing and going forward. I need to load manage myself. Though I am not 24 years old either. Couple decades older. lol

I knew that would be an answer. And I assume you're being facetious.
