1)Isaac is a good choice at 7

But then 7 of the 8 recent mocks I looked at had him available at 7, so I began questioning our second consensus...and asking for other mocks that have him gone. So far, nobody has found a mock other than nbadraft.net (which frankly I generally find one of the least accurate mocks) that has him gone at 7, so I wonder is our assessment is wrong. After all, many of the guys doing the mocks do this for a living and have access to scouts and GMs, so wouldn't their opinion have some validity? Things may change as workouts progress, but perhaps a sharpshooter like Monk or a freaky athlete like Smith might be strong candidates to soar.
I'm changing my assessment. As things stand now, I'm guardedly optimistic our Wolves will end up with Isaac, and that he will be a good fit.
The less you hear about him the more you should be worried. Teams tend to be completely radio silent if they like a guy and talk up other players to try to get someone to bite on them so their guy falls.

That's right. GMs tell reporters like Chad Ford what they want others to hear, not necessarily what they are really thinking. I think Isaac will go #3 or #4. Josh Jackson may drop and I'm convinced Tatum will drop as low as 6 and possibly #7.

1. Fultz - Boston won't pass on the near consensus best player in the draft
2. Ball -- I think Ball's the best player in the draft. He wants to be a Laker and he will be
3. Jackson -- Sixers will take this guy or Isaac. I think they'll opt for the more NBA-ready Josh.
4. Isaac -- The Suns are rebuilding and nowhere near the playoffs. They'll go for high upside.
5. Fox -- Some think he's the best PG in the draft. Kings want a PG and they'll take Fox
6. Tatum -- Orlando is in full rebuild mode. I don't think they'll pass on the talented Tatum
I'm sure the Wolves would love to get Jackson, Isaac or Tatum but that's not likely in my view. Here are the guys I'd consider -- some of them by trading down:
1. Zach Collins
2. Markkenan
3. Monk
4. Ntilikina
5. Anunoby
6. Giles
7. John Collins
8. Ike Anigbogu
9. Adebayo
10. Jonathan Jeanne

Having 10 players ranked ahead of Dennis Smith Jr is insane. We need talent.
I would hope we could find a trade partner for Dennis Smith Jr. Maybe the 76ers or Kings depending on their first pick. Fultz and Ball are the only two PG's I would keep from this draft. I don't see the rest as clear upgrades to Dunn to draft and keep them. I'd honestly rather draft Monk to be our 6th man scoring guard next to Dunn than take any of the PG's at 7 outside of Fultz and Ball.

So after having allegedly one of the most talented young cores in the NBA we still need even more young talent? It's amazing how we just always need that one more lottery pick......
We need defense, toughness, and guys willing to do dirty work. We have enough show horses on the roster. We don't need another one.

That's probably a legit idea if the market truly values DSJ as the BPA when we pick and Thibs is confident he can trade it. If he's simply valued at the same tier as a guy like Zach Collins, I'd take Collins straight up.

Talent means nothing if you don't have the motor or physical health to make the most of it. Smith appears to have motor issues and a surgically repaired ACL, which is especially problematic for a guy who relies so much on athleticism. I see bust written all over him. Just my gut feeling based on what I've read.
